Job summary

Project Mumbai is seeking a proactive fellow to support the planning and execution of civic engagement and sustainability projects in collaboration with government bodies, schools, corporates, NGOs, and communities.

This field-based role involves project management, stakeholder coordination, government liaison, reporting, and partnership management, with mentorship from senior leadership and hands-on experience in driving community impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in any stream with passion for environment and sustainability.
  • 0-1 year of experience; internships/volunteering in related fields are a plus.
  • Proficiency in English and Marathi.
  • Interest in government or institutional stakeholders.
  • Basic documentation and presentation development abilities (MS Office/Google Workspace).
  • Minimum 3-month commitment, full-time, with 2 in-office days per week at Andheri.
  • Willingness to work on the ground with field visits and travel in Mumbai/Navi Mumbai.
  • Direct exposure to government and institutional partnership building.
  • Hands-on experience in project operations and delivery across education, sustainability, civic engagement.
  • Mentorship from senior project and partnerships leadership.
  • Certificate of fellowship and letter of recommendation on completion.
  • Possible extension to 6 months or full-time based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating with government departments, municipal bodies, and public institutions
  • Support scheduling and follow-ups for meetings with officials and partner representatives
  • Help prepare presentations, concept notes, briefs, and updates for government and institutional stakeholders
  • Support day-to-day coordination of projects across education, sustainability, civic engagement, and community participation
  • Assist in planning and scheduling activities across partner institutions and communities, tracking milestones and deliverables
  • Support coordination across government, schools, NGOs, CSR partners, institutions, and community stakeholders
  • Assist in onboarding and engagement of implementation and ecosystem partners
  • Help organise meetings, workshops, field visits, and stakeholder consultations
  • Assist in preparing project reports, dashboards, review notes, and progress updates
  • Support the capture of outputs, outcomes, learnings, and impact stories across initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-month commitment, full-time, with 2 in-office days per week at Andheri
  • Willingness to work on the ground, including field visits and travel within Mumbai/Navi Mumbai
  • Direct exposure to government and institutional partnership building
  • Hands-on experience in project operations and delivery across education, sustainability, and civic engagement

  • Practical, resume-ready skills in stakeholder management, reporting, and monitoring & evaluation
  • Certificate of fellowship and letter of recommendation for fellows who complete their term successfully
  • Possible extension to 6 months or a full-time role based on performance
