Job summary

Emkay is seeking an experienced Financial Editor in Mumbai to edit and proofread English-language research reports on equities and economies, helping maintain the highest standards amid tight deadlines. You will lend timely support to the managing editor, coordinating with the Editing and Production teams, and interacting closely with analysts to resolve issues and improve readability.

The role requires excellent written and spoken English, strong financial vocabulary, and at least seven years

Qualifications

• Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of financial terms.
• 7+ years of financial editorial experience.
• Ability to edit and proofread English-language research reports on equities and economies.
• Interact with analysts to resolve issues and improve readability of reports.

Role & responsibilities

• To lend timely support to the managing editor; co-ordinating well with the Editing and Production team.
• To edit and proof-read English-language research reports on equities and economies, maintaining the highest standard amid tight deadlines.
• To interact closely with analysts for resolving any issues in the submitted reports; focus on improving the readability of reports.

Additional responsibilities:

• Editing research products to ensure that they meet regulatory requirements and internal guidelines (keeping to Emkays style guide, format, etc);
• Safeguarding the integrity of internal information, in keeping with Compliance;
• Excellent written and spoken English-language skills; fair amount of knowledge about financial terms;
• Basic understanding of the broad range of securities, business & industry terminology, and equity valuation concepts;
• Keen attention to detail (writing/editing skills; you will be sent a standard test);
• Time-management—work to tight deadlines;
• Proficiency in Microsoft desktop; minimum 7 years’ financial editorial experience.
