Job summary

Bloomingdale International School is seeking an Early Years & Primary Years Associate Teacher to support our academic team at the Penamaluru, Vijayawada campus. This in-person, full-time role reports to the Principal and requires a passion for young learners and collaborative growth.

The selected candidate will assist with inquiry-based, student-centered learning, differentiated activities, and portfolio development, while engaging with a diverse, international learning community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Child Development, or related field.
  • Experience working with young learners in school, preschool, or educational settings preferred.
  • Fresh graduates with genuine interest in teaching are encouraged to apply.
  • Good understanding of child development and age-appropriate learning practices.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Patience, empathy, creativity, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team.
  • Basic computer/IT skills and willingness to use digital learning tools.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow professionally.
  • Prior IB PYP or international curriculum experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in Early Years, Preschool, Kindergarten, Montessori, CBSE, ICSE, Cambridge, or similar environments.
  • Interest in inquiry-based, play-based, experiential, and child-centered learning.

Responsibilities

  • Support the lead teacher in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.
  • Assist in implementing inquiry-based and student-centered learning experiences.
  • Support differentiated activities to meet individual student needs.
  • Reinforce concepts through small-group and one-to-one activities.
  • Encourage student participation, curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
  • Help maintain a positive, safe, inclusive, and well-organized classroom.
  • Support students during classroom activities, transitions, meals, outdoor play, and routines.
  • Observe and document student learning, development, behaviour, and progress.
  • Provide appropriate emotional and academic support under guidance of the lead teacher.
  • Assist with student portfolios, classroom displays, teaching resources, and learning materials.
  • Collaborate with lead teachers, subject teachers, coordinators, and support staff.
  • Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, professional development programmes, and school activities.
  • Support school events, assemblies, field trips, celebrations, and special programmes.
  • Provide classroom support or substitution when required.
