Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking an Electrical Designer to develop detailed electrical design and drafting for onshore and offshore facilities, reporting to the Lead/Principal Electrical Engineer and coordinating with other disciplines. You will prepare electrical layouts, 2D/3D models, single-line diagrams, and cable routing plans, ensuring compliance with IEC/IEEE/IS standards and client specs.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E. in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design for oil & gas, offshore platforms, power plants or similar industrial projects.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, AVEVA E3D/PDMS/SP3D or MicroStation is preferred.
• Good understanding of MV/LV distribution, lighting, earthing & lightning protection, cable sizing and routing fundamentals.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, IS/BS standards and client specifications in O&G/power sectors.
• Ability to interpret vendor drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings and interface requirements from other disciplines.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update electrical layouts and 2D/3D models, including equipment, lighting, small power, earthing, lightning protection and cable tray routing.
• Develop and maintain single-line diagrams, wiring/schematic diagrams, interconnection diagrams and termination drawings.
• Generate lighting looping, cable routing plans, MTOs/BOMs and support material take-off for procurement and construction.
• Produce equipment layout drawings for switch rooms and topside modules in coordination with mechanical, structural and instrumentation disciplines.
• Implement project and client standards, ensuring compliance with relevant IEC/IEEE/IS/BS standards and company procedures in all design deliverables.
• Incorporate clash-free routing and constructability aspects using AVEVA/E3D/PDMS or similar 3D design tools where applicable.
• Support design reviews and model reviews actions related to electrical layouts and cable routing.
• Assist in resolving site queries, red-marking as-built drawings and updating final documentation.
