Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking an Electrical Designer in Bengaluru, India. The role involves working on 3D PDMS models for offshore projects, preparing various electrical layout drawings, and ensuring designs meet industry standards.

Candidates should hold a Diploma in Instrumentation/Electrical with relevant experience of 5-10 years for mid-level and 11–15 years for senior-level positions in the offshore Oil & Gas sector. The position provides opportunities to engage in exciting projects within the industry.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years experience for mid-level, 11–15 years for senior-level in offshore Oil & Gas industry.
• Specific experience in electrical design for offshore facilities.
• Experience with wellhead platforms and FPSO topsides modules.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering design of 3D PDMS model.
• Prepare and review documents like electrical schematic and installation drawings.
• Coordinate with clients for clarifications on layout drawings.

Electrical Designer

3D Responsibilities

• Work closely with Engineers and other Designers to accurately interpret the engineering design of 3D PDMS model for offshore projects using PDMS.
• Software: PDMS, MDS, AutoCAD, E3D, Aveva Cable Design, Navis Work
• 3D PDMS modeling of electrical equipment inside LER (HV/LV Switchgear, Panel boards, transformers, MCT penetrations, JB etc), Power & Control Cable Trays, Cable Tray Supports, Lighting Fixtures & supports, Welding Sockets, JBs, LCS, power distribution boards, MCT, etc.
• 2D drafting/ Extraction of the below documents from PDMS:
  • Cable Tray Layout
  • Lighting & Small Power Layout
  • Cable Tray Support Layout
  • Electrical Equipment Layout
  • MCT Layout
  • MTO
  • Customization, Templates & Cataloguing, and Macros for different applications using PDMS.
  • Co-ordination with Inter-disciplines for clash checks & resolves.

2D Responsibilities

• To prepare, review all documents/deliverables such as:
  • Single line diagram,
  • Electrical Schematic diagram,
  • Interconnection diagram.
  • Earthing Layout
  • Electrical equipment Layout
  • Hazardous Area Classification Drawing
  • Lighting Loop Diagram
  • Cable Block Diagram
  • Electrical Installation Drawings
• Coordination with the others/clients for clarifications regarding layout drawings, documents, and Installation drawings.

Requirements

• Diploma in Instrumentation/Electrical.
• Experience: 5-10 years for mid-level and 11–15 years for senior-level having relevant experience in the offshore Oil & Gas industry with specific experience in Electrical design for Offshore Oil and Gas facilities – Wellhead platforms, Fixed Process Platforms, FPSO topsides modules & Turret Mooring System.
