Job summary

THERMAX is seeking an experienced professional with 5-8 years in inspection and testing, focusing on electrical and instrumentation. You will participate in FAT, review ITPs, assess compliance, and coordinate with vendors, engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure safe, compliant installations.

Role emphasizes calibration of instruments, adherence to safety standards, and effective site support for clearance and QA processes.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in inspection & testing across electrical/instrumentation domains.
• Exposure to FAT, ITP reviews, NCRs, and QA procedures.

Responsibilities

• FAT: Attend Factory Acceptance Tests to ensure equipment meets specifications before installation.
• Identify deviations, issue NCRs, and oversee corrective/preventive actions.
• Coordinate with clients and Third-Party Inspectors for inspections.
• Obtain clearances from involved parties in the inspection clearance process.
• Prepare MRB and submit for material clearances at site.
• Resolve site queries for clearing IMIRS.

Experience - 5 to 8 years

Core competencies:

• Inspection & Testing:
  • Electrical: Inspection & Testing of switchgear, transformers, motors, MCC panels, local burner panels, Junction Boxes, Power distribution boards, Local control stations, UPS.
  • Instrumentation:

1)Calibration of transmitters (pressure, flow, level), Pressure and temperature gauges, Calibration of RTD, Thermocouple, Analysers, Detectors, Control valves , MOVs etc

2) Testing / performance checking of SWAS Panel, CEMS, Flame scanner, Igniter, ON -OFF valves, flowmeters, Analysers, Sensors, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• FAT: Attending Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to ensure equipment meets specifications before installation.
• Non-Conformance Management: Identifying deviations, issuing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and overseeing corrective/preventative actions.
• Third-Party Liaison: Coordinating with clients and Third-Party Inspectors (TPI) for scheduled Review, Witness, hold-point inspections.
• Obtaining clearances from the parties involved in inspection clearance process.
• Preparing MRB (Manufacturing Record Book), submitting it to site for material clearances.
• Resolve site queries for clearing IMIRS (Inward Material Inspection Reports)
• Ability to review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) of Electrical & Instrumentation items.
• Ability to review FAT procedures, testing procedures, Hydro test procedure, leak test procedure, calibration procedure etc etc.
• Ability to closely co-ordinate between Vendors, Engineering, procurement, commissioning team for earlier and effective resolution.
• Ability to do process audits.
• Technical understanding of hazardous environments, compliance with international standards, codes and specialized certifications.
