Job summary

Nexus Horizon International Engineering Consultants in the UAE seeks an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to support design, installation, testing, commissioning and technical execution of E&I systems for Oil & Gas projects.

The role requires 5–8 years of relevant E&I experience, strong knowledge of electrical/instrumentation, DCS/PLC/ESD and hazardous-area installations, with expertise in AutoCAD, ETAP or SPI/INtools. UAE/GCC project exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering.
• 5–8 years of relevant E&I experience, preferably in Oil & Gas, EPC, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, DCS, PLC, ESD, and Fire & Gas systems.
• Experience with hazardous-area installations and relevant standards is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, SLDs, instrument datasheets, cable schedules, and engineering drawings.
• Experience with AutoCAD, ETAP, SPI/INtools or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and coordinate E&I engineering drawings, specifications, datasheets, and calculations.
• Review electrical single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, instrument hook-ups, loop drawings, and control system architecture.
• Support selection and sizing of electrical equipment and field instrumentation.
• Coordinate with project, procurement, construction, commissioning, vendors, and clients.
• Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, SIL, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and project meetings.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with applicable IEC, IEEE, ISA, API, NFPA, and other relevant standards.
• Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with company HSE, quality, schedule, and technical requirements.Support preparation of project documentation, reports, method statements, and technical submissions.

Job Purpose
