Attero Recycling is seeking an experienced E&I Project Engineer to oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems for process-industry projects. You will coordinate internal teams, contractors, and vendors from concept to handover.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical and instrumentation design, execution, and commissioning in the process industry.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical power distribution, instrumentation, control systems, and automation technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical and instrumentation design and execution activities for assigned projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with project managers.
  • Coordinate the activities of internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing issues and delays.
  • Manage project resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to meet project deadlines.
  • Review and approve electrical and instrumentation design documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure designs align with project requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance to design teams for control systems, power distribution, field instruments, and automation systems.
  • Perform calculations and design analyses to meet functional and safety requirements.
  • Oversee procurement of electrical and instrumentation materials, equipment, and services.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers/contractors meeting quality standards.
  • Review vendor submittals, bids, and proposals.
  • Monitor vendor performance to ensure timely delivery.
  • Oversee installation on-site, coordinating with construction teams.
  • Lead commissioning, testing, and calibration of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during installation or commissioning.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations (IEC, NEC, NFPA, OSHA).
  • Develop safety procedures for handling electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain documentation of design changes, project progress, issues, and solutions.
  • Prepare reports on project status, risks, and issues for management.
  • Ensure proper documentation of as-built drawings, test results, and commissioning reports.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and process disciplines to align requirements.
  • Communicate with clients, project teams, contractors, and suppliers to address issues.
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance during handover and post-commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Coordination
  • Lead electrical and instrumentation design and execution activities for assigned projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with project managers.

Design & Engineering

Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Manage procurement of electrical and instrumentation materials, equipment, and services.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers and contractors, ensuring they meet project and quality standards.
  • Review and approve vendor technical submittals, bids, and proposals.
  • Monitor vendor and supplier performance to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services according to the project schedule.
Installation & Commissioning
  • Oversee the installation of electrical and instrumentation systems on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with construction teams to ensure proper installation of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Lead the commissioning, testing, and calibration of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during the installation or commissioning phases.
Safety & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure that all electrical and instrumentation work complies with safety standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, NEC, NFPA, OSHA).
  • Develop and implement safety procedures for the handling and installation of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure the project meets quality standards and adheres to regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive records of design changes, project progress, technical issues, and solutions.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the project manager and senior management, highlighting project status, risks, and issues.
  • Ensure proper documentation of as-built drawings, test results, and commissioning reports.
