Job description

Duty Officer at [PVRINOX] plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the cinema. This position involves supervising staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, handling emergencies, and maintaining the overall security and safety of the premises. The Duty Officer ensures that all cinema functions are executed smoothly and efficiently during their shift.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
  • Supervise the daily operations of the cinema including ticketing, concessions, and ushering.
  • Ensure all areas of the cinema are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
  • Coordinate with different departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
Staff Supervision:
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the performance of front-line staff.
  • Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff are informed of daily objectives and any special instructions.
  • Assist in the training and development of new and existing employees.
Customer Service:
  • Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained throughout the cinema.
  • Handle VIP guests and special requests with discretion and efficiency.
Security and Safety:
  • Monitor the premises to ensure the safety and security of patrons and staff.
  • Implement and enforce cinema policies and procedures.
  • Respond to emergencies, coordinate evacuations, and liaise with emergency services as necessary.
Financial Management:
  • Oversee cash handling procedures including opening and closing tills, and ensuring accuracy in transactions.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance and stock levels.
  • Assist with banking duties and financial record-keeping as required.
Facility Management:
  • Conduct regular inspections of the cinema to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Report and follow up on maintenance and repair issues.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and arrange for repairs as needed.
Event Coordination:
  • Assist in organizing and overseeing special events and promotions.
  • Coordinate with marketing and management teams to ensure successful event execution.
  • Manage crowd control and seating arrangements during busy periods and events.
Administrative Duties:
  • Prepare and submit operational reports to management.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, customer feedback, and staff performance.
  • Handle scheduling and shift management for front-line staff.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in hospitality, business management, or a related field is preferred.
