Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking a candidate for a role in the Dpty. Mg STA Trims group in Chennai. The incumbent will develop parts to meet production targets using APQP processes, study drawings for manufacturability, and prepare detailed part costing while coordinating with suppliers.

Responsibilities include supplier process planning, MSA/ SPC if required, PPAP documentation, and participation in PPAP trials to ensure first-time-right quality and gateways as per MPDS guidelines.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Mechanical/Production is required.
• Solid understanding of APQP and PPAP processes for new parts.
• Experience estimating component costs and preparing process/quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop parts to meet production quality targets within APQP framework.
• Study drawings to confirm manufacturability and identify cost drivers.
• Estimate costs component-wise and detail part costing.
• Participate in setting material and tooling costs within budget.
• Select vendors following company policy for the part.
• Plan process at supplier end and prepare Process Flow Chart and control plan.
• Conduct MSA and SPC as needed and cover PPAP documentation.
• Support PPAP trials, inspect parts, and clear PPAP gateways.

• To develop right quality of parts to support desired production levels following APQP process
• To study the received drawing and to confirm the manufacturability.
• Estimate costs component wise & details costing of the components/new part.
• To participate in settling the material and tooling cost within the budgeted values.
• To select the vendor as per guiding policy for the part.
• To plan process at supplier’s end and to prepare PFC (Process Flow Chart) and control plan
• To carry our MSA & SPC if required
• To cover applicable elements of PPAP and complete the documentation
• To be present during PPAP trial run, check the parts and clear PPAP
• To meet the Gateways as per MPDS (Mahindra Product Development

System) targets for projects.

• To develop the part with right time and with right cost.
• To ensure right fixtures , gauges & tooling’s are planned for the development
• To ensure first time right PPAP.
• To get actively involved in project feasibility studies.
