Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking a manufacturing engineer to develop parts with right quality and cost. You will study drawings for manufacturability, estimate component costs, and coordinate at supplier sites to ensure PPAP readiness.

Role requires involvement in cost budgeting, vendor selection, and adherence to MPDS targets across projects, with emphasis on timely delivery and process planning at the supplier end.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech or ME/MTech in Mechanical/Production.
• 4-8 years of relevant experience in mechanical/production engineering.
• Experience with APQP/PPAP processes and cost estimation.

Responsibilities

• Develop parts with right quality to support production levels following APQP.
• Review drawings for manufacturability.
• Estimate costs component-wise and detail costing for new parts.
• Participate in settling material and tooling costs within budgets.
• Select vendors per policy for parts.
• Plan supplier-side processes and prepare PFC and control plan.
• Carry out MSA & SPC if required.
• Cover PPAP elements and complete documentation.
• Be present during PPAP trials and clear PPAP.
• Meet MPDS gateways targets for projects.
• Develop parts on time and cost.
• Ensure fixtures, gauges & tooling are planned.
• Aim for first-time-right PPAP.
• Contribute to project feasibility studies.

Job description

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. To develop right quality of parts to support desired production levels following APQP process
2. To study the received drawing and to confirm the manufacturability.
3. Estimate costs component wise & details costing of the components/new part.
4. To participate in settling the material and tooling cost within the budgeted values.
5. To select the vendor as per guiding policy for the part.
6. To plan process at supplier’s end and to prepare PFC (Process Flow Chart) and control plan
7. To carry our MSA & SPC if required
8. To cover applicable elements of PPAP and complete the documentation
9. To be present during PPAP trial run, check the parts and clear PPAP
10. To meet the Gateways as per MPDS (Mahindra Product Development System) targets for projects.

2. To ensure right fixtures , gauges & tooling’s are planned for the development
3. To ensure first time right PPAP.
4. To get actively involved in project feasibility studies.
