Job summary

Single Window Consulting is seeking a design engineer to lead the development of automotive sunroof systems from concept to production. You will interface with customers for reviews, gather requirements, and manage engineering changes using CATIA V5.

You will coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and purchasing for validation, support DFMEA and DVP&R, ensure compliance with quality standards, and actively participate in APQP and PPAP processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive sunroof design and mechatronics.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 Part Design, Assembly, Surfacing, and Drafting.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and DFMEA; familiarity with APQP/PPAP is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and customer interactions independently.

• Manage BOM creation and Engineering Change Management.
• Track project timelines and milestones per program plan.

Required Skills

• Experience in automotive product design, specifically sunroof systems or similar mechatronic components.
  


• Proficient in CATIA V5 Part Design, Assembly, Surfacing, and Drafting.
  


• Strong knowledge of automotive design standards, GD&T, and DFMEA.
  


• Good communication and project management skills.
  


• Ability to handle multiple projects and customer interactions independently.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of automotive sunroof systems from concept to production.
  


• Interface directly with customers for design reviews, requirement gathering, and engineering changes.
  


• Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5 as per customer and internal specifications.
  


• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and purchasing for design validation and feasibility.
  


• Support prototype development, DFMEA, DVP&R and design validation processes.
  


• Ensure all design activities comply with internal quality standards and customer requirements.
  


• Participate in APQP and PPAP documentation processes.
  


• Manage BOM creation and Engineering Change Management (ECM).
  


• Track project timelines and ensure milestone achievements as per program plan.
