Miners' Pocket Books Pvt Ltd is seeking a senior procurement leader to develop and implement global strategies for books and educational materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing.

You will lead supplier assessments, negotiate contracts, oversee inventory, and mentor a procurement team, with a focus on risk, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate or post graduate with 15+ years in SCM or related field.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP/inventory systems.
• Strong knowledge of global supply chain management and inventory control.
• Experience in publishing industry preferred.

Role & responsibilities

Develop and implement global procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of books and educational materials. Analyze market trends and conduct supplier assessments to identify the best sources for quality materials. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, publishers, and vendors. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure optimal value and compliance with policies Oversee the management of book inventory, including tracking stock levels, demand forecasting, and replenishment planning. Implement inventory control procedures to minimize stockouts, overstock situations, and obsolescence. Coordinate with logistics and distribution teams to ensure efficient and timely delivery of materials to various locations. Monitor shipping and handling processes to optimize cost and delivery times. Strong knowledge- Printing and vendor management Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions and vendor performance issues Utilize data analytics to monitor procurement performance, generate reports, and provide insights for continuous improvement. Strong command over operation management. Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and high performance culture. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate / Post Graduate with at least 15 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, inventory management systems). Strong knowledge of global supply chain management, procurement processes, and inventory control. Should ideally have experience in the publishing industry Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
