Job summary

Thoran Tech seeks a Director of Proposals to lead end-to-end US Federal proposal development from Hyderabad. You will mentor a team of proposal professionals and work with Capture, Business Development, and Solution teams to craft compelling, compliant proposals for Federal clients.

You will independently write executive summaries, technical narratives, past performance, and pricing inputs while ensuring readiness for submission. Strong leadership and deadline-driven delivery are essential.

Role Overview:

The Director Proposals (US Federal Proposals) is a strategic leader and hands-on contributor responsible for managing the end-to-end proposal development process for US Federal Government contracts. This role requires overseeing a team of proposal professionals while actively contributing to the creation, review, and submission of high-quality, compliant, and compelling proposals aligned with federal business growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of proposal managers and writers to ensure timely, high-quality submissions for US Federal proposals.
• Review and analyze Federal RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs in detail to identify requirements, compliance needs, and submission strategies.
• Collaborate with Capture Managers, Business Development, and Solution teams to design winning proposal strategies for Federal clients.
• Independently develop and write key proposal sections including Executive Summaries, Technical Narratives, Past Performance, and Pricing Inputs.
• Drive proposal kick-off meetings, review sessions, and governance reviews.
• Ensure proposal responses are fully compliant with Federal solicitation requirements and aligned with customer expectations.
• Manage proposal templates, content libraries, and version control processes.
• Conduct quality reviews, proofing, and formatting to ensure professional and error-free submissions.
• Coordinate inputs from cross-functional teams including technical, pricing, and operations.
• Conduct post-submission "lessons learned" sessions to improve future proposals.
• Prepare and present weekly proposal status reports to senior management.
• Balance leadership and individual contribution - effectively managing deliverables while taking ownership of critical Federal proposals.
