Qualifications

• 12-15+ years of experience in public affairs, government relations, public policy or corporate affairs.
• Strong understanding of Indian government institutions and policymaking processes.
• Demonstrated experience engaging with senior government officials and institutional stakeholders.
• Extensive professional network across government departments, industry bodies and policy ecosystems.
• Proven ability to develop and execute public affairs strategies and manage complex stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead public affairs and government engagement strategies across priority sectors and policy areas.
• Build and manage relationships with senior government officials, policymakers, regulators, industry leaders and institutional stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for strategic engagement, policy collaboration and institutional partnerships.
• Track and analyse policy, regulatory and political developments to identify opportunities.
• Develop stakeholder engagement plans, advocacy strategies and government outreach roadmaps.
• Represent Impact Bharat in high-level meetings, consultations, roundtables and industry forums.
• Lead policy dialogues, closed-door consultations, stakeholder convenings and strategic initiatives.
• Advise leadership and clients on government priorities and public affairs strategy.
• Develop strategic briefs, presentations, talking points and engagement notes for senior leadership.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects with quality and timeliness.
• Identify and develop partnerships with government bodies, corporates and civil society organisations.
• Contribute to business development and expansion of Impact Bharat's public affairs practice.

About the role

We are looking for a Public Affairs Lead to drive government engagement, strategic stakeholder management and public affairs initiatives across key sectors. The role will involve building institutional relationships, advising on policy and regulatory developments, shaping engagement strategies and leading initiatives that bring together government, industry and civil society. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in navigating government systems, managing senior-level relationships and translating strategic priorities into tangible outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead public affairs and government engagement strategies across priority sectors and policy areas
• Build and manage relationships with senior government officials, policymakers, regulators, industry leaders and institutional stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for strategic engagement, policy collaboration and institutional partnerships
• Track and analyse policy, regulatory and political developments to identify emerging opportunities
• Develop stakeholder engagement plans, advocacy strategies and government outreach roadmaps
• Represent Impact Bharat in high-level meetings, consultations, roundtables and industry forums
• Conceptualise and lead policy dialogues, closed-door consultations, stakeholder convenings and strategic initiatives
• Advise leadership and clients on government priorities, stakeholder dynamics and public affairs strategy
• Develop strategic briefs, presentations, talking points and engagement notes for senior leadership
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects, ensuring quality, and timely delivery
• Identify and develop partnerships with government bodies, corporates and civil society organisations
• Contribute to business development, institutional partnerships and the expansion of Impact Bharat's public affairs practice

What we're looking for
