Job summary

Mantras2Success in Hyderabad invites an experienced Senior Finance & Accounts leader to head the India finance operation. You will oversee accounting, financial reporting, controllership and operations, while partnering with US leadership to support growth.

The role requires 10+ years in finance, CA/CPA preferred, and a background in BPO/shared services. You will build and scale a high-performing finance delivery team in a fast-paced environment.

Role Overview

The company is looking for a senior Finance & Accounts leader to lead its India finance operation.

The role will be responsible for overseeing accounting, financial reporting, controllership, financial operations, team leadership and client delivery, while working closely with the US leadership team and supporting the growth of the India operation.

This is a leadership role suited to someone who has experience building and managing finance teams/operations, particularly in a BPO, accounting outsourcing, shared services or US accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting Leadership

• Lead the overall Finance & Accounts function for the Hyderabad operation.
• Oversee accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations and management reporting.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness and quality of financial information.
• Establish strong accounting controls, processes and review mechanisms.
• Drive standardisation and process improvement across finance operations.

Team & Operations Management

• Build, lead and develop the Hyderabad finance team.
• Define team structures, responsibilities, workflows and performance expectations.
• Hire, mentor and retain high-quality finance professionals.
• Establish a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
• Manage capacity planning and resource allocation as the business scales.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with US-based leadership and clients on finance and accounting requirements.
• Act as a senior point of contact for complex accounting and finance matters.
• Ensure high-quality and timely delivery across client engagements.
• Understand client requirements and translate them into effective finance processes and solutions.

Financial Reporting & Controls

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Review balance sheets, P&L, cash flow and other financial statements.
• Ensure appropriate reconciliations, controls and accounting processes are followed.
• Support audit, tax and compliance requirements as applicable.
• Identify financial and operational risks and implement appropriate controls.

Strategic Finance

• Support financial planning, forecasting and budgeting activities.
• Contribute to financial modelling, cash-flow planning and business analysis.
• Provide insights to leadership to support business and capital allocation decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, margins and scalability.

Process & Technology

• Identify opportunities to automate and improve finance workflows.
• Drive the use of technology and systems to reduce manual intervention.
• Establish scalable processes and reporting systems as the Hyderabad operation grows.

Required Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of experiencein Finance & Accounts, controllership or financial operations.
• CA / CPA qualification preferred.
• Strong experience managingfinance/accounting teams and operations.
• Experience inBPO, accounting outsourcing, shared services, KPO or client-facing finance operationswould be highly relevant.
• Strong understanding ofUS accounting / US GAAPwould be an advantage.
• Experience in building, scaling or managing a finance delivery centre/team.
• Strong knowledge ofmonth-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, controls and audit.
• Strong stakeholder and client-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly for working with US-based stakeholders.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
