GEP is seeking a Solution Architect to establish and own the architecture function for the Source-to-Contract portfolio. You will drive SDLC improvements while representing S2C in cross-functional forums across the enterprise.

You will lead architecture governance, define capability models, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions in a B2B SaaS context.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of significant experience in software architecture and engineering.
• Strong expertise in applying architecture design patterns for scalable, maintainable systems.
• Deep hands-on experience with Azure cloud services and Azure DevOps for enterprise apps.

Solution Architect(Director)

Role Overview

GEP is hiring a Solution Architect to establish and ownthe architecture function for the Source-to-Contract (S2C) portfolio. TheSolution Architect will combine strong domain knowledge of S2C applicationswith an architecture mindset, hands-on performance engineering skills, and theability to drive SDLC improvements, while representing S2C in cross-functionalforums across the wider enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Ownend-to-end solution architecture across all modules within the S2C portfolio.
• Act as the single point of authority for architecture governance — evaluatingdesign approaches and taking final decisions on complex or contested designquestions.
• Defineand maintain capability modeling for the S2C domain, mapping how S2C fits intoGEP's broader enterprise architecture so future solutions have a clear place tobe designed against.

Cross-Functional Engineering Partnership

• RepresentS2C in cross-functional architecture and engineering forums (e.g., dependencieswith P2P, enterprise-wide initiatives such as “Godzilla”), and be empowered tomake decisions on S2C's behalf.
• Partnerwith the Enterprise Architecture organization to align S2C's architecturedirection with the company's overall architecture vision.

Performance, Scalability & Non-Functional Engineering

• Identifyand design scalable, performance-oriented solutions to address customer-facingperformance, scalability, and throughput challenges.
• Bringseasoned expertise in non-functional engineering areas, including performance,scalability, security, and observability.
• Partnerwith the S2C engineering team to propose and implement solutions toproduction-level performance and scale issues.

Technical Debt & Modernization

• Proactivelyidentify technical debt across S2C applications and own the roadmap to addressit.
• Bringprior experience modernizing legacy or aging systems, ideally within a B2B,enterprise-scale environment.
• Assessthe current software development lifecycle and identify opportunities forimprovement in DevOps, CI/CD, and related engineering practices.
• Introducenew ways of working that improve delivery speed and quality, in the spirit ofongoing initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Architecture& Engineering: 12+ years of significant experience insoftware architecture and engineering, with a track record of owningarchitecture for complex, enterprise-scale applications.
• ArchitectureDesign Patterns: Strong expertise in applyingarchitecture design patterns to build scalable, resilient, and maintainablesystems.
• Cloud& DevOps Platform: Deep hands-on experience withMicrosoft Azure cloud services and Microsoft Azure DevOps for managing thelifecycle of enterprise applications.
• Microservices& Backend Development: Proven experience in developingmicroservices using C#, Python, and Node.js.
• APIDesign: Comprehensive background in REST API design,development, and management.
• ProductionOperations: Proven track record addressingperformance, scalability, security, and observability challenges in productionenvironments.
• SystemModernization: Experience driving tech debtmodernization initiatives in complex, at-scale systems.
• DomainKnowledge: Experience in source-to-contract, procurement, orcomparable B2B enterprise SaaS domains is a plus, but not mandatory — theability to learn and scale into the domain matters more than prior S2C-specificexposure.
• StakeholderManagement: Strong stakeholder management skills;comfortable representing a domain in cross-functional forums and influencingdecisions without direct authority.
• SDLC& Process Improvement: Working knowledge of SDLC bestpractices, DevOps, and CI/CD, with a history of driving process improvements.
