Job summary

BVR People Consulting seeks a DGM Customs Management in Gurgaon to lead end-to-end import customs clearance and ensure full regulatory compliance. You will drive duty optimization, manage HS classifications, audits, and key stakeholder relations to ensure smooth material movement under statutory rules.

The role requires expert knowledge of Indian Customs Act, DGFT, FTP and ICEGATE, with strong analytical skills using Excel and Power BI for reporting and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end import customs clearance and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Indian Customs Act, DGFT, FTP and ICEGATE.
• Ability to optimize duties and drive FTAs with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead Import Customs Clearance and Compliance activities.
• Ensure compliance with Indian regulations and authorities.
• Manage HS Classification, Valuation, FTAs and duty optimization.
• Handle customs audits, PCA, SVB and investigations.
• Drive duty savings and FTAs while monitoring brokers and SLAs.
• Reduce demurrage and detention through efficient processes.
• Coordinate with internal teams, authorities, brokers and regulators.
• Close audit observations and compliance issues promptly.
• Use Excel, Power BI and compliance systems for reporting.

Job Purpose:

To manage end-to-end import customs clearance, customs compliance, trade regulations, duty optimization, government audits, and stakeholder management while ensuring seamless movement of imported materials with full compliance to statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Import Customs Clearance & Customs Compliance activities.
• Ensure compliance with Indian Customs Act, DGFT, FTP and ICEGATE regulations.
• Manage HS Classification, Customs Valuation, FTA, Rules of Origin and Duty Optimization.
• Handle Customs Audits, PCA, SVB and Customs Investigations.
• Drive duty savings and FTA utilization opportunities.
• Manage and monitor Customs Brokers / CHA performance and clearance SLAs.
• Reduce demurrage and detention through effective customs processes.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, customs authorities, brokers and other regulatory agencies.
• Ensure timely closure of audit observations and compliance issues.
• Use Excel, Power BI and Customs Compliance Systems for analysis and reporting.
