GLA University is seeking a DG Operator with strong hands-on experience operating and maintaining diesel generating sets. The candidate should be capable of handling start/stop procedures, AMF/ATS panels, and routine fault diagnosis.
The role requires ITI in Electrical/Diesel Mechanic or related qualification, plus 12 years of relevant experience; adaptability for 24/7 rotational shifts, meticulous record keeping, and prompt response to DG trips.
Educational Qualification: Minimum 10th/12th pass.
Technical Qualification: ITI in Electrical, Diesel Mechanic, or Electrician is preferred.
Experience: Minimum 12 years of experience in DG set operation and maintenance.
DG Knowledge: Knowledge of DG start/stop procedures, AMF/ATS panels, battery charging, fuel system, coolant, engine oil, and basic fault identification.
Electrical Knowledge: Basic understanding of voltage, current, frequency, kW/kVA, load balancing, and electrical safety.
Safety: Knowledge of electrical safety, earthing, fire safety, and emergency shutdown procedures.
Log Maintenance: Ability to maintain records of DG running hours, fuel consumption, load, voltage/frequency, and maintenance activities.
Shift Duty: Ability to work in 247/rotational shifts.
Emergency Handling: Ability to respond promptly to DG trips, overheating, low oil pressure, high coolant temperature, and other common faults.
The minimum qualification should preferably be 12th Pass + ITI in Electrical/Diesel Mechanic + 2 years of relevant DG operating experience. For larger DG sets, such as 500 kVA or above, experienced operators should be given preference
