Job summary

Sopra Steria India is seeking an experienced DevOps/Platform Engineer to drive validation, OpenShift, and CI/CD pipelines. The role emphasizes deployment readiness, security integrations, and production support with strong automation and cross-functional collaboration.

You will manage code promotion, Secrets, Helm charts, Jenkins workflows, and tooling integrations with GitHub, SonarQube and Checkmarx. The candidate should have 6–8 years of relevant experience and a BE/BTech/MSc/MCA, and support

Qualifications

• BE/BTech/MSc/MCA required.
• Total experience 6–8 years in DevOps/CI/CD environments.
• Knowledge of OpenShift, Jenkins, and security tools beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Validate and manage the Validation Environment: schedule, health checks, and deployment scripts.
• Handle code promotion logic and Secrets management for Production environments.
• Maintain OpenShift Helm charts; tune scaling for search/event engines.
• Configure CI/CD integrations: GitHub, Jenkins; manage webhooks.
• Oversee Jenkins maintenance: plugin updates, Safe Restart, and stakeholder alignment.
• Support access management, SFTP workflows and service accounts.

Job Description

Below are the activities expected on the specific skills

Validation Environment (Weekly/On-Demand):

• Schedule and communication protocol (Communication via GChat).
• Pre-deployment health checks.
• Deployment steps/scripts for Validation.

Production & Training Setup:

• Code promotion logic (How code moves from Validation > Training/Prod).
• Secrets management (OpenShift Secrets) for Prod environments.

2. OpenShift

• Helm charts and values.yaml files.
• Scaling parameters for Search/Event engines.

3. CI/CD Pipeline & Security Integration

• Access to the Shared Library (if used).
• Template for creating a new Jenkinsfile.
• Webhook configurations between GitHub and Jenkins.
• Deployment for Validation.

Security Tool Integration:

• SonarQube: Quality Gate criteria and project key naming conventions.
• Checkmarx: Scan triggers and view vulnerability reports.
• Service account credentials used for these integrations.

4. Operations & User Support

Access Management:

• Process for onboarding new users.

SFTP & Service Accounts (SA):

• Request workflow (Ticket system).
• Validation of SFTP connectivity (commands/tools used).
• Request new Service Accounts.

Jenkins Maintenance:

• Plugin update frequency and "Safe Restart" protocols.
• Align meeting with Stakeholders (for Green Deployment)
• Preparation of Notes

Total Experience Expected: 06-08 years
