Job summary

Charter Global is seeking an experienced DevOps Automation Engineer to design secure, scalable AWS infrastructure, automate deployments, and support enterprise cloud and data platforms in Hyderabad.

The role focuses on Terraform, AWS CDK, CI/CD with Jenkins and GitHub Actions, scripting in Python and Shell, and strong emphasis on security, DR, monitoring, and Databricks workspaces.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Terraform and AWS CDK.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Scripting in Python and Shell.
• Experience with Databricks and data platforms.
• Security controls, access policies, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage secure, scalable AWS infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CDK.
• Develop Terraform modules and AWS CDK stacks for EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, EKS, and KMS.
• Automate AWS infrastructure monitoring for health, cost, performance, and security.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Develop automation scripts in Python and Shell.
• Implement security controls, access policies, and compliance.
• Manage secrets with AWS Secrets Manager.
• Participate in DR planning, testing, and drills.
• Manage Databricks workspaces, clusters, and jobs.
• Collaborate with Architects, Developers, and Data Engineers.
• Participate in daily DevOps stand-ups.
• Monitor and optimize AWS resources with Cost Explorer.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Automation Engineer with strong expertise in AWS, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, scripting, monitoring, security, and Databricks. The candidate will be responsible for building and managing scalable AWS infrastructure, automating deployment processes, implementing security controls, and supporting enterprise cloud and data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage secure, resilient, and scalable AWS infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CDK.
• Develop Terraform modules and AWS CDK stacks for EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, EKS, and KMS.
• Automate AWS infrastructure monitoring for health, cost, performance, and security using CloudWatch, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Groovy, and GitHub Actions.
• Develop automation scripts using Python, Groovy, and Shell.
• Implement security controls, access policies, and compliance requirements across AWS environments.
• Manage secrets and encryption keys using AWS KMS and AWS Secrets Manager.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, testing, documentation, and drills.
• Manage Databricks workspaces, clusters, and jobs, including troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with Architects, Developers, and Data Engineers to support project requirements.
• Participate in daily DevOps stand-ups/sync meetings.
• Monitor and optimize AWS resource utilization and spending using AWS Cost Explorer and CloudWatch.
