Job summary

Snapmint, Mumbai‑based with offices in Gurugram, Delhi and Jaipur, seeks a deeply technical DevOps Architect (Staff/Principal IC) to architect and scale infrastructure for 10x–100x growth, partnering with engineering, security, data, product and leadership.

You will own CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/Pulumi/CloudFormation), Kubernetes/ECS, observability, and security posture for a fintech environment, with 10+ years in DevOps/SRE and strong communication; location is Gurugram, working five days a week on

Qualifications

• 10+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Infra Engineering and independent senior IC track record.
• Experience scaling infra for high-growth fintech/payments environments is a strong plus.
• Deep hands-on expertise with a major cloud provider (AWS), Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale Snapmint's cloud infra to support 10x–100x growth.
• Design and own CI/CD pipelines and release strategies (blue‑green, canary).
• Build and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code as the single source of truth.
• Own container orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS) including autoscaling and multi-tenancy.
• Define observability strategy (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) to detect issues early.
• Drive security/compliance posture in infra for fintech data, including secrets management and audit trails.
• Lead incident response for high-severity infra issues and drive blameless postmortems.
• Mentor engineering teams on infra best practices and collaborate with leadership on infra roadmap.

The Role

We’re looking for a deeply technical, hands‑on DevOps Architect operating at a Staff/Principal level as an Individual Contributor. As Snapmint scales from 10x to 100x, you’ll architect and build the infrastructure required to support exponential growth in scale, reliability, security and performance. You’ll work across engineering, Security, Data, Product, leadership and founders to solve complex infrastructure challenges, drive technical decisions, and execute hands‑on.

What You Own

• Architect and evolve Snapmint's cloud infrastructure to support a 10x–100x scale journey — capacity planning, cost optimization, and resilience built in from day one
• Design and own CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies (blue‑green, canary), and release engineering practices across all engineering teams
• Build and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform/Pulumi/CloudFormation) as the single source of truth for our environments
• Own container orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS) — cluster architecture, autoscaling, multi‑tenancy, and cost efficiency
• Define and implement observability strategy — logging, metrics, tracing, alerting — so we detect and resolve issues before customers do
• Drive security and compliance posture in infrastructure (critical for a fintech handling financial data) — secrets management, network segmentation, audit trails, DR/BCP
• Lead incident response for high‑severity infra issues and drive blameless postmortems that prevent recurrence
• Act as a technical mentor and force‑multiplier for the broader engineering org on infra best practices, without direct reporting authority
• Partner directly with engineering leadership and founders on infra roadmap, budget, and vendor decisions

What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering, with a track record of owning systems independently at senior IC level
• Proven experience scaling infrastructure for high‑growth, high‑transaction‑volume companies (fintech/BNPL/payments experience is a strong plus)
• Deep hands‑on expertise with a major cloud provider (AWS preferred), Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern CI/CD tooling
• Strong systems thinking — you can reason about failure modes, cost curves, and scaling bottlenecks before they happen, not just after
• Experience building observability and incident management practices from scratch
• Comfort operating in a regulated, security‑conscious environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication — you'll influence without formal authority
• A builder's mindset: you'd rather write the Terraform module yourself than write a ticket for someone else to do it

Good to Have

• Experience scaling infrastructure for high‑growth fintech, consumer tech, or high‑transaction platforms from 10x to 100x scale.
• Experience driving large‑scale infrastructure transformations independently, from architecture and strategy through hands‑on implementation.
