Job summary

Cynosure Corporate Solutions is seeking a Development Engineer to drive new product development from concept through launch. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, prototype, and implement innovative solutions while focusing on cost-effective production and scalability.

Ideal candidates have 1–4 years in product development or manufacturing, with CAD proficiency, strong analytical and collaboration skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 1–4 years of product development or manufacturing experience.
• Solid understanding of NPD processes and product development.
• Experience with vendor development and management is desirable.
• Proficiency in CAD and engineering analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the NPD process from concept to launch.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors based on quality, cost and capability.
• Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure quality, delivery, and pricing.
• Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing to optimize design for cost.
• Develop and document manufacturing processes for new products.
• Design, build, and test prototypes to validate designs and identify improvements.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during development and production.
• Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation including specs, drawings, and test reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, sourcing and QA.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through process and design enhancements.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and execution of new product development (NPD) projects, contributing to the design, prototyping, and implementation of innovative solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure the successful launch of high-quality, cost-effective products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in all phases of the NPD process, from concept to launch, contributing to design reviews, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
  
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors based on quality, cost, and capability.
  
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors, ensuring consistent quality, on-time delivery, and competitive pricing.
  
• Collaborate with the engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to optimize product design for cost-effectiveness, performing cost analysis and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
  
• Develop and document manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  
• Design, build, and test prototypes to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements
