Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 desktop and IT support for desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot Windows 10/11 and hardware issues (RAM, HDD/SSD, motherboard, display).
• Resolve issues with MS Office, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and business apps.
• Configure LAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP problems.
• Perform basic Active Directory tasks (user creation, password resets).
• Provide remote support via Quick Assist, AnyDesk, TeamViewer.
• Manage support tickets and adhere to SLA/TAT.
• Document incidents, resolutions and troubleshooting steps.
• Assist with onboarding, asset inventory, and laptop/software setup.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and warranty claims.
• Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams and IT security policies.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer with 1–2 years of experience to provide L1/L2 technical support to end users. The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting desktop/laptop hardware, Windows OS, software, printers, networking, email, and other IT-related issues. The role also involves ticket management, IT asset tracking, user onboarding, and remote/onsite support. These responsibilities align with current India-based desktop support roles. IIndeed+2

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows 10/11 operating systems.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues involving RAM, HDD/SSD, motherboard, display, keyboard, mouse, etc.
• Troubleshoot MS Office, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive , and other business applications.
• Configure and troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP issues.
• Perform basic Active Directory tasks such as user creation, password resets, account unlocks, and permissions.
• Provide remote support using tools such as Quick Assist, AnyDesk, TeamViewer , or similar tools.
• Handle IT support tickets and ensure issues are resolved within defined SLA/TAT .
• Maintain proper documentation of incidents, resolutions, and troubleshooting activities.
• Support new-joiner onboarding , laptop allocation, software installation, and user setup.
• Maintain and update IT asset inventory .
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs, warranty claims, and printer/network issues.
• Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate L2/L3 or infrastructure teams.
• Follow company IT security policies and standard operating procedures.

Required Skills

• 1–2 years of experience in Desktop Support / IT Support / Helpdesk .
• Good hands-on knowledge of Windows 10/11 .
• Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts – IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, Wi-Fi and VPN .
• Working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook .
• Basic understanding of Active Directory .
• Experience with ticketing/helpdesk tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of remote support tools.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of an IT support team.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / Graduate / BCA / B.Sc. / B.Tech / BE in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field .
• CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL Foundation, or similar certification would be an added advantage.
