Job summary

Magna Steyr seeks an Interior Components Designer in Pune to design and develop Instrument Panels, consoles, and trim modules. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready solutions with emphasis on cost, performance, and manufacturability.

The role requires BE or DME in mechanical fields with 3–7 years of relevant experience and strong CAD/DFx capabilities, including Catia V5. This is a regular/permanent position in Magna Steyr’s engineering group.

• BE/ DME in mechanical field
• 3-7 years of relevant experience (BE: 3–6 years; DME: 5–7 years)
• Proficiency in CAD and manufacturing-focused design is essential

Responsibilities

• Design and development of Interior Components / Modules (e.g., Instrument Panel, Floor Console, Door Trim, Interior Trim)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, production-ready solutions emphasizing structural integrity and manufacturability
• Ensure timely delivery with minimal rework and adherence to project milestones

Responsible for designing and developing Interior components that meet performance, cost, and manufacturing goals. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, production-ready solutions with a focus on structural integrity, efficiency, and compliance Reporting to Manager / Assistant Manager / Sr. Lead Engineer / Lead Engineer

Responsibilities/ task

Design and development of Interior Components / Modules e.g. Instrument Panel / Floor Console / Door Trim / Interior Trim Hard and Soft Trim Components etc.

• 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation using CAD software (Catia V5)

• Joinery definitions and assembly sequence.
• Knowledge of Requirements for – Packaging, Part to part Interface, Materials etc.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Tolerances & Reference Point System)
• Data Management
• Ability to understand Gap & Step Requirement, Color & Texture Requirement
