Position Summary:

Job Overview:

As a Product Development Manager , you will be reporting to Plant Head and your responsibility will be to lead the design and development of innovative hand tools that meet customer needs and market demands. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, prototype, and launch new products while ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and time line objectives.

Role & responsibilities

• 1.Product Design / Conceptualization: Collaborate with production and sales teams to enhance and understand products, tools, packaging materials, processes, mapping, and tool trials. Generate innovative ideas for new hand tools and product improvements to address market gaps and opportunities.
• 2.Design and Engineering: Utilizatation of 2D and 3D softwares (CAD ,NX , Coral -Draw & ARIES) and engineering principles to design hand tools that meet functional, ergonomic, and aesthetic requirements. Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and prototypes for new products.
• 3.Product Innovation: Drive innovation in product design and development by leveraging Design Methodologies.Work closely with Sales ,Production , Quality and Design teams to translate customer needs and market trends into innovative product solutions.
• 4.Prototype Development: Coordinate prototype development and testing activities to validate design concepts and functionality. Work closely with prototype technicians and suppliers to build and evaluate prototypes, iterate designs, and incorporate feedback.
• 5.Materials and Manufacturing Processes: Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for hand tool production, considering factors such as performance, durability, cost, and manufacturability. Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure design feasibility and scalability of Manufacturing Process Such As Forging , Machining , Hardening , Tool Manufacturing , Jig & fixtures and Mould etc. To Oversee and Determine Bill of Material of Products.
• 6.Quality and Reliability: Establish quality standards and specifications for new products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer expectations. Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analysis to identify and mitigate potential quality issues.
• 7.Cost Analysis and Value Engineering: Evaluate design alternatives through cost estimate to optimize product manufacturing cost while maintaining quality and performance. Implement value engineering techniques to reduce manufacturing costs and improve profitability through appropriate design.
• 8.Statutory &Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Statutory & regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to hand tool design and safety. Stay informed about Statutory ulatory changes and incorporate necessary updates into product designs.
