Job summary

Indovance Inc. in Pune leads a senior mechanical BIM role focused on high-precision modeling for HVAC, piping, and fire protection, delivering data-rich 3D models and fabrication drawings.

You will mentor junior designers, drive peer reviews, and coordinate with structural, architectural, and electrical teams to achieve a zero-clash model that meets ASHRAE/SMACNA/NFPA/IPC standards.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in mechanical BIM modeling and systems delivery.
• BE Mech with relevant professional background and registration.
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC codes.
• Experience with fabrication readiness to support pre-fabrication and spooling.

Responsibilities

• Oversee high-precision BIM modeling for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and plant piping.
• Translate schedules, P&IDs, and schematics into data-rich 3D models and fabrication drawings.
• Select and manage intelligent mechanical component families with embedded data.
• Mentor mechanical modelers and uphold quality engineering standards.
• Lead internal peer-review to audit models for engineering logic and maintenance clearance.
• Upskill the team on complex mechanical concepts and advanced BIM toolsets.
• Lead multidisciplinary clash detection and resolution with structural, architectural, and electrical teams.
• Perform spatial optimization to maximize space, minimize pressure drops, and ensure maintenance access.
• Support value engineering by optimizing MTOs and routing efficiency to reduce waste and costs.
• Ensure layouts adhere to regional/international codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC).
• Maintain alignment with fabrication standards (LOD 400/500) for manufacturing readiness.

• Select, configure, and manage intelligent mechanical component families, ensuring accurate dimensional properties and embedded engineering data.
• Mentorship & Quality Engineering
• Serve as the primary technical anchor and mentor for mechanical modelers and junior designers, fostering a culture of technical rigor.
• Establish stringent internal peer-review mechanisms to audits models for engineering logic, serviceability, and maintenance clearance.
• Upskill the team on complex mechanical concepts, routing optimization techniques, and advanced BIM toolsets.
• Advanced Coordination & Value Engineering
• Actively lead multidisciplinary clash detection and resolution workflows, collaborating seamlessly with Structural, Architectural, and Electrical teams to achieve a fully coordinated, zero-clash model.
• Perform spatial optimization to ensure mechanical equipment rooms and riser layouts maximize space, minimize pressure drops, and guarantee maintenance accessibility.
• Support value engineering efforts by optimizing material takeoffs (MTOs) and routing efficiency to reduce material waste and fabrication costs.
