Job summary

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) hires a Design Lead (Electrical - DC) to review and execute engineering activities for PV solar plants, including generation estimates, layouts, DC SLDs, module selection, inverter sizing, SMB, and earthing layouts. The role coordinates BIM 3D models and interdepartmental checks across Civil, Structural, Instrumentation and MEP, from pre-bid through commissioning and warranty.

The Lead will head a team of design engineers and drafters, ensuring on-time, within-budget

Qualifications

Job description

Role & responsibilities

Objective:

As Design Lead (Electrical - DC), the person shall be capable of reviewing & executing Engineering Activities like Generation Estimate, Overall plant Layout, DC SLD, Solar Module selection, Inverter Sizing, SMB, Earthing Layouts, Cable Sizing Calculations of Solar PV Power Plants. They shall facilitate the modellers in development of BIM 3D Model for PV Solar Power plants. In addition, they have to coordinate with other departments including Interdepartmental checks covering Civil/ Structural, Instrumentation, MEP and others. The Design Lead (Electrical DC) shall be required to provide support for the engineering activities covering the full cycle of works from pre-bid engineering to support during commissioning and warranty periods and to extend support to site team. They shall lead a team of Design Engineers and Draughts Persons to manage the Engineering activities within budget, deliver on time and maintaining a high quality of engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Timely Delivery of Engineering Drawings & Documents
• Ensure deliveries are aligned to Project Schedule Review drawings by Design Engineers & Draughts Persons.
• Checking of design & sizing calculations of engineering electrical equipment and obtaining approvals from the clientGeneration analysis, shading analysis & project design using PVSYST software.
• Indepth Technical knowledgde of DC Electrical system in Solar Power plant
• Indepth Knowledge in PVSyst Simulation and related studies
• Sound Knowledge in PV Resource analysis, Generation & Loss Estimation
• Experience in design of Large scale Grid connected PV plants, OFF Grid PV plants
• Knowledge in PV module technologies and its performances
• Knowledge in String sizing and Loss Estimation for PV plants
• Overall Knowledge in AC Power evacuation systems
• Indepth knowledge in PV power plant layout preparation
• Good knowledge in other disciplines like Civil/mechanical/Instrumentation related requirements to successful carry interdisciplinary checks
• Experience in PV plant Layout design, Cable sizing, Voltage drop calculation
• Good Knowledge in Earthing and Lightning calculation/layouts.
• Skilled in Solar Central Inverters, String Inverters and its technologies
• Knowledge in IEC standards related to Modules, Inverters and other related item
• Shall possess customer/consultant handling related to technical clarifications.
