Job summary

Texmaco Nymwag Rail & Components seeks a senior leader to oversee all design and development activities, guiding a team of designers and engineers from concept through prototype to production-ready products. You will drive NPI, DFMEA/PPAP processes, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining rigorous documentation.

Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and deep experience in heavy engineering are essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all design and development activities within the company.
• Lead concept-to-prototype development and manufacturing-ready designs.

• Implement design processes and best practices to improve efficiency and quality.

Role & responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all design and development activities within the company.
• Enable new designs from the concept stage to the development of prototypes through to finished products ready for manufacture.
• Ensure design projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Lead and manage a team of designers and industrial engineers.
• Guide SBU level design & development team on operational changes.
• Implement design processes and best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure design requirements are met.
• Conduct research and development to stay current with industry advancements.
• Maintain design and development documentation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Lead the team to create a range of 3D models for several proposal/production and development systems, products, and components using CAD.
• Responsibility for the management of all Design activities including Request for Design freeze/release, Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Design Verification/Product Validation (DV & PV) testing.
• Present design, costs, changes and budgetary information effectively to senior members and customers and provide regular progress updates.
• Liaise closely with all departments to fully understand design requirements.
• Manage customer relationships and handle customer inquiries related to design and development.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, sales and customer service departments.
