Job summary

Texmaco Nymwag Rail & Components Private Limited is seeking a senior design and development leader to oversee all design activities, guide a team of designers and engineers, and drive new product introductions from concept to prototype through to production.

You will ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, maintain design documentation, and collaborate with manufacturing, sales and service departments while upholding industry standards and quality.

Qualifications

• 15 - 18 years in heavy engineering companies.
• Experience in New Product Introduction and design changes through production.
• Qualification includes B-Tech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or higher.

Job description

• Oversee and manage all design and development activities within the company.
• Enable new designs from the concept stage to the development of prototypes through to finished products ready for manufacture.
• Ensure design projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Lead and manage a team of designers and industrial engineers.
• Guide SBU level design & development team on operational changes.
• Implement design processes and best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure design requirements are met.
• Conduct research and development to stay current with industry advancements.
• Maintain design and development documentation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Lead the team to create a range of 3D models for several proposal/production and development systems, products, and components using CAD.
• Responsibility for the management of all Design activities including Request for Design freeze/release, Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Design Verification/Product Validation (DV & PV) testing.
• Present design, costs, changes and budgetary information effectively to senior members and customers and provide regular progress updates.
• Liaise closely with all departments to fully understand design requirements.
• Manage customer relationships and handle customer inquiries related to design and development.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, sales and customer service departments.
