Job Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and develop suspension systems and components for commercial vehicles, including trucks and buses.
- Perform 3D modelling and 2D drawing creation using UG NX / Siemens NX.
- Develop, modify and release suspension components and assemblies in line with design and engineering requirements.
- Work on suspension components including springs, air bellows, brackets, castings, forgings, rubber and plastic components.
- Apply strong knowledge of commercial vehicle architecture, suspension design principles and automotive engineering.
- Support the complete design and development lifecycle, from concept development through validation and engineering release.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications and design documentation.
- Ensure designs meet requirements related to performance, durability, reliability, safety, manufacturability and cost.
- Work closely with manufacturing, testing, validation, quality and cross-functional engineering teams for successful product development.
- Support DFMEA, DVP and design review activities and ensure identified risks are appropriately addressed.
- Analyze and support resolution of field issues related to suspension systems, including root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Provide technical support for design improvements, product modifications and engineering changes based on field feedback and project requirements.
- Evaluate appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for suspension components.
- Support technical discussions with internal and cross-functional teams and provide appropriate engineering solutions.
- Guide team members in resolving technical, design and project-related issues.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned engineering activities in accordance with project schedules and quality requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of suspension design, processes and engineering practices.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience in UG NX / Siemens NX 3D & 2D.
- Good knowledge of Automobile Engineering, preferably in Commercial Vehicles.
- In‑depth knowledge of Truck & Bus Suspension Design.
- Strong understanding of suspension manufacturing technologies and processes.
- Good knowledge of automotive materials including:
- Springs
- Air Bellows
- Castings
- Forgings
- Rubber Components
- Plastic Components
- Experience in automotive product design, development and engineering release.
- Working knowledge of DFMEA, DVP and Design Development Processes.
- Moderate to good knowledge of suspension system troubleshooting and field issue resolution.
- Good understanding of design for manufacturing and assembly.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in automotive design and product development.
- Candidates with Commercial Vehicle / Truck / Bus experience will be preferred.
- Experience in Suspension System Design & Development is highly desirable.
- Candidates from Automotive OEMs, Tier‑1 suppliers and Automotive R&D organizations are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication, coordination and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as guide team members on technical matters.
