Job summary

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. is seeking an experienced Design Engineer for Strut, Shock Absorbers, and Coil Springs in Gurugram. The role focuses on design, development, evaluation, and tuning to meet vehicle performance goals.

Expect hands-on work with suspension parts and active engagement in quality improvements and regulatory compliance. The candidate should have 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong problem-solving skills, and familiarity with QC tools and CAD/CAE systems.

Qualifications

• Min 3–5 years of relevant design experience in suspension components.
• Experience in design, development and evaluation of Strut, Shock Absorbers and Coil Springs.
• Familiarity with CAD processes and CAE simulations for vehicle performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Strut, Shock Absorbers, and Coil Springs and related modular components.
• Evaluate designs, perform layout checks and load calculations for vehicle performance.
• Handle market/warranty complaints related to damper components.
• Contribute to tuning, local development, and quality improvements of suspension parts.
• Utilize QC tools for root cause analysis and implement countermeasures.
• Collaborate with teams on basic part specifications and regulatory compliance.
• Possess strong communication and proactive problem-solving abilities.

Experience 3 - 5 Years

• -Min 3 Years (AM) / Min 5 Years (DM) of relevant experience
• -Design, Development & Evaluation of Strut & Shock Absorbers, Coil Springs & Modular components (Bump Stopper, Support Comp)
• -Experience in designing & spec finalization of Strut Assy/Shock Absorbers & Coil Springs, knowledge of layout check, load calculations. Need to have experience on design & estimation ofto achieve Vehicle performance.
• -Hands on experience in handling market/warranty complaints related to damper components.
• Will be part of team responsible for design/development of Strut, Shock Absorbers & Coil Springs. Would work on basic part related specification requirements, tuning, & local development & quality improvements of these parts.
• Adequate proficiency with QC tools such as 5-Why Analysis, Fishbone diagram, etc. for root cause analysis & countermeasure effectiveness checking.
• Basic know-how and understanding of CAD system. (UG NX/ UG Motion) & CAE simulation.
• Basic understanding about Suspension system, design aspects & function
• Ability to work hands on with Suspension system parts.
• Understand Vehicle dynamics and importance of Damper parameters on overall vehicle performance.
• Fundamental knowledge of regulatory compliance.
• Should have good communication skills & enthusiasm to take up stiff challenging targets.
• Experience of Project Management will be added advantage.
• Should possess lateral Thinking ability.
• Should have a passion for automobiles and should be aware of latest automotive trends in field of Suspension systems & Damper technology.
