Job summary

Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW) in Coimbatore seeks an Industrial Engineering professional to drive project delivery from inception to commercialization, coordinating with the design team and handling IP related activities.

You will perform detailed design, BOM preparation, ECO management, and cost-reduction initiatives while interfacing with R&D, manufacturing, and suppliers to implement robust engineering solutions and ensure compliance with EOHS and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Contribute towards healthy margins for LMW through advisory support on IE to respective BUs
• Reduce Cost of Production by Design levers (LAMP) - Mechanical
• Enable R&D and Manufacturing teams to translate hidden customer needs through Industrial Engineering interventions
• Enable cognizance of customer and market feedback on existing products through process, facility and tooling recommendations to IE and Manufacturing teams
• Detailed design, calculations, modelling, drawings and implementation of components for customer special requirements
• Drawing outsourcing to design house Petrus Team for customer requirements and manufacturing requests
• Identify and implement feasibility checks of ideas and design modifications for cost reduction
• Review ECR/DCR requests and implement design changes
• Support electrical team for BOM and drawings like motors and control panels
• Prepare trial formats for complaints/developments and cost reduction
• Coordinate for preparing FMD for complaints
• Prepare and release standard BOM for prototype machines
• Prepare and release Variables and options to create complete Product BOM
• Prepare and release Variables and options BOM to export into configurator
• Amend numeric and logic rules in configurator for correct configuration
• Coordinate with cost accounts for COP pricing for customized items
• Prepare design change documents and conduct ECO meetings and implementations
• Prepare and release ECO for complaints and DCRs from user departments
• Amend machine work orders for special executions and communicate
• Amend work orders for Manufacturing and SCM to attain DRO via BCR
• Prepare and release E Number kits for performance enhancement and alternate items
• Attend spare parts clarifications
• Conduct second source development
• Make ECIR amendments
• Obtain FSI approvals
• Supplier visits for developments and design change implementation
• Standardization of components/C-class items
• Prepare technical briefs for customer service communications
• Approve design checking of acceptable deviations requests
• Field visits to customer sites to collect VOC, validate trials and audits
• Provide design solutions for new requirements raised through pre-dispatch MOM
• Ensure compliance to TQM, ACDE, ISO and EOHS
• Maintain understanding of IP laws to protect R&D activities
• Engage with external organizations to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing
• Coordinate data migration for PLM implementation and communicate progress

Purpose of the Role

Execute project delivery for specific products in the portfolio from the inception till its commercialization and work with the design team from concept generation phase to detailed design phase and Handling IPR related activities for products

• 5. Detailed design, design calculation, modelling, Drawings and implementation of the components and subsystems developed for customer special requirements, complaints, suggestions, manufacturing, SCM requests
• 6. Drawing outsourcing to Design house Petrus Team for customer special requirements, complaints, suggestions, manufacturing, SCM requests
• 7. Identifying & implementing Feasibility checking of ideas and Implementing the design modification for cost reduction projects
• 8. Review the ECR DCR request and implement design changes.
• 9. Support to electrical team for BOM & Drawing preparation like motors. Control Panel, Operator Panel ..
• 10.Preparation of trial Relevant format for complaints/developments, cost reduction etc.
• 11.Co ordination for Preparing the prepare FMD for the complaints raised.
• 12.Prepare and release the standard BOM for prototype machines
• 13.Prepare and release the Variables and options to create the complete Product BOM with all frozen specifications. during pilot batch and commercialization
• 14.Prepare and release the Variables and options BOM to export the same into configurator.
• 15.Prepare and amend the numeric and logic rules in the configurator to ensure correct configuration
• 16.Co-ordinating with cost accounts for price arrival for new products to arrive COP (Cost of Production ) for Customized product items
• 17.preparations of design change Documents and Conducting Pre- ECO meeting & ECO implementations for new components / developments.
• 18.Prepare and release the ECO for the complaints and requests DCR from user departments
• 19.Amend the machine work orders for the special executions and communicate the same
• 20.Amend the machine work orders for the requests of Manufacturing and SCM to attain the DRO through BCR mail
• 21.Prepare and release of E Number kits for performance enhancement, customer specific request, transit damages, alternate items for obsolete components
• 22.Attending Prepare spare parts clarifications
• 23.Conduct second source development
• 24.Make ECIR Amendments
• 25.Obtain FSI approvals
• 26.Supplier visit for developments Design change Implementation
• 27.Standardizations of components/ C-class items
• 28.Documents Preparations of Tech Briefs for the Customer service communication
• 29.Approve Design Checking of the acceptable deviations concession requested
• 30.Field Visit mills to Customer place to collect VOC (Voice of Customer) for complaints, trial validation, audits
• 31.Providing Design solution for New Requirements raised thru Pre dispatch MOM Points.
• 32.Ensure compliance to TQM, ACDE, ISO and EOHS
• 33.Maintain a strong understanding of intellectual property laws and ensure that the organization’s R&D activities are protected.
• 34.Deal with external organizations, including research institutions, universities, and other related companies, to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• 35.Effective Coordination ,Data Migration for PLM Implementation
• 36.Communicate research findings and progress to senior members of the team and function
• Execute improved technologies used by suppliers, competitors, and customers.
