Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Vadodara seeks a mechanical design engineer to contribute to pre-design studies, layout preparation, and basic engineering for equipment with exposure to 3D modelling and 2D drawings.

The role involves reviewing designs, selecting bought-out components, preparing piping, and generating manuals and reports under the guidance of the Lead Engineer.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of equipment design and basic engineering principles.
• Ability to review calculations, drawings and vendor documents.
• Experience with SAP requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Study technical specifications and prepare key notes for pre-design.
• Review existing designs of L&T Howden equipment.
• Prepare layout and equipment piping drawings.
• Prepare and review customer documents and manuals for erection, commissioning, operation & maintenance.
• Perform 3D modelling and generate 2D drawings; compile BOMs and modify drawings as needed.
• Coordinate with Lead Engineer/Engineering Manager during design checks.

Job description

• Studying the Technical specifications and preparing key notes for pre-design
• Perform studies of existing designs of the L&T Howden equipment’s.
• Preparation of Layout
• Prepare specification and customer documents.
• Prepare manuals which includes instructions for erection, commissioning, operation & maintenance of L&T Howden equipment’s. Also compiling sub-supplier manuals as instructed by the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager
• Conduct product tests and generate report as directed
• Review the calculations, detail drawings, customer documents and sub-contract vendor documents, along with Lead Engineer
• Preparation of Basic engineering for equipment
• Checking of basic and detail designs prepared by designers
• Selection of bought out components
• Preparation and checking of equipment piping
• Perform 3D modelling and create 2D design drawings, compiling Bill of materials, drawing modification, design change, SAP requirements and all other associated drawing functions as instructed by the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager
• Candidate should have good knowledge of RAPH design and preferred from the same experience.
