Job summary

Ayr Energy, Inc. in Hyderabad seeks a Design Engineer HV – Electrical to drive the basic electrical design of circuit breakers and define components' clearances.

You will perform dielectric and coupled-field analyses, define test regimes per IEEE/IEC, and guide cross-functional teams to meet qualification and manufacturing needs. 3–5 years of HV CB design experience and proficiency in ANSYS, COMSOL, EMTP, ETAP are expected; travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in HV circuit breaker design.
• Proficiency in analysis tools such as ANSYS, COMSOL, EMTP, ETAP.
• Knowledge of IEEE/IEC Type tests and qualification processes.

Responsibilities

• Define design parameters per IEEE/IEC Type tests of DTCB.
• Perform dielectric and coupled-field analyses (Dielectric, EMTP, etc.).
• Understand and define dielectric clearances of HV parts.
• Define Type test program for IEEE/IEC and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues.

Job description

As a Design Engineer HV – Electrical, you shall be able to do:

• The basic electrical design of circuit breaker analysing the dielectric clearances and,
• Define the circuit breaker parts and its clearances for mechanical designer to analyse
• Analyse the coupled field phenomenon of arc chamber and gaseous dielectric behaviour in dynamic condition
• Define the type test requirements for each component of DTCB as per IEEE / IEC
• Define Qualification requirements of the parts and assembly as per the design to meet the type test and routine test performance.

Responsibilities:

As a Design Engineer HV – Electrical, you shall:

• Define design parameters as per the IEEE / IEC Type tests of DTCB.
• Perform basis study / analysis for DTCB such as Dielectric analysis, Coupled field analysis, EMTP etc.,
• Understand and define the dielectric and electrical clearances of HV parts
• Define the Type test program for DTCB to qualify for IEEE / IEC and customers specific requirements
• Assess the process or issues during manufacturing and provide appropriate guidance to the team
• Review the customer requirements and assess the suitability and adaptability to meet the requirements to the fullest
• 3-5 Years of experience in HV circuit breaker design involving basic study / analysis.
• Proficiency in analysis software such as ANSYS, COMSOL, EMTP, ETAP etc.,
• Good knowledge on Type test regime for DTCB / HVCB as per IEEE / IEC
• Good knowledge / exposure to manufacturing and qualification process of HV Products.
• Ability to work closely with cross-functional team to guide and support them on basic clarifications regarding product and tests.

Additional Requirement:

• Ability and willingness to travel 20%.
