Job summary

Keka Inc. in Gurgaon is seeking a Fire Protection Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience in designing fire protection systems, including hydrants, sprinklers, pump houses and standpipes, and familiarity with NFPA, TAC and NBC codes.

You will lead conceptual through tender design, develop technical specs and BOQs, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with clients. A diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering is required, and AutoCAD experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in designing fire protection systems.
• Experience in fire protection design for fire hydrants, sprinklers, pump houses and standpipes.
• Familiar with NFPA, TAC and NBC design codes.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for design layouts.
• Strong client communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall design of fire protection, detection and activation systems.
• Prepare concept, schematic, design development and tender documentation.
• Design distribution systems per regulations for various building types.
• Perform calculations and create layouts; mentor junior engineers.
• Coordinate with clients and offshore visits if required.

Job Description: Fire Protection (Design Engineer)

Must be a graduate in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering from an university of repute with 5+years.

Experience in the designs of Fire Protection Services. Must be conversant with the design

codes of NFPA, TAC and NBC etc. Working experience in the designs of Fire Hydrant, Fire

Sprinklers, Pump house, Standpipes is a requirement. Knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems is

an added advantage.

This job specifically involves the following key roles and responsibilities –

• Responsibility for the overall design of fire protection, detection and activation systems & deliverables, including Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Tender Design / Documentation (including Technical Specifications, BOQ, Schedules and Drawings)
• Ability to design complete distribution systems to current legislation and codes of practice for various type of buildings based on client brief & guidelines
• Ability to work independently on various calculations and layouts/schematic mark-ups as

This job also involves the following aspects -

• Ability to independently communicate with Clients in written and spoken English
• Ability to independently create fire protection design mark-ups and perform calculations
• Ability to mentor and assist Junior Engineers
• Ability to get trained on and work on newer Design Software like HydraCAD, AutoSprink etc
• Ability to undertake offshore visit to client office if required for detailed training and one to one sessions.
