Job summary

Yuto is seeking an experienced Design & Development Engineer to create innovative packaging solutions using AutoCAD, focusing on folding cartons, rigid boxes and corrugated boxes. You will translate concepts into manufacturable designs and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Production and QC.

The role involves developing KLDs, 3D views, BOMs and ensuring cost-effective packaging while maintaining quality and functionality.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.Tech in Printing & Packaging or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in structural packaging design using AutoCAD.
• Experience with folding cartons, rigid boxes and corrugated boxes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop packaging KLDs in AutoCAD based on customer needs.
• Create prototypes using sample-making machines and validate specs.
• Modify designs to optimize cost, material usage and production feasibility.
• Prepare KLDs, 3D views, BOMs and production handover docs.
• Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Production and QC teams.
• Suggest cost-effective packaging designs and packaging innovations.
• Assist in product trials, transit tests and quality validation.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Design & Development Engineer to develop innovative, functional, and cost-effective packaging solutions using AutoCAD as part of the New Product Development (NPD) process.

The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to transform conceptual ideas into manufacturable packaging solutions, particularly for folding cartons, rigid boxes, and corrugated boxes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop packaging KLDs using AutoCAD based on customer requirements.


• Create prototypes using sample-making machines and validate structure, size, and functionality.


• Modify existing packaging designs to optimize cost, material usage, and production feasibility.


• Prepare KLDs, 3D views, BOMs, and technical documentation for production handover.


• Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Production, and QC teams and external vendors.


• Suggest cost-effective packaging designs and optimize material usage without compromising functionality or aesthetics.


• Contribute ideas for packaging innovation, sustainable alternatives, and patentable structures.


• Assist in product trials, transit tests, and quality validation of newly developed packaging.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D design and rendering).


• Knowledge of paperboard, corrugated board, rigid board, and other packaging materials.


• Understanding of Adobe Illustrator / CorelDRAW for artwork alignment.


• Familiarity with sample-making machines and post-press operations.


• Strong understanding of structural packaging design and development.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / B.Tech in Printing & Packaging / Mechanical Engineering / relevant discipline; Graduate candidates may also be considered.


• 3+ years of experience in structural packaging design using AutoCAD.


• Experience in folding cartons, rigid boxes, and corrugated boxes is preferred.


• Candidates with experience in the Printing & Packaging industry will be preferred.
