Job summary

J Hotels, Real Estate Development, Construction & Design Consulting seeks a Design Coordinator in Hyderabad to manage architectural, interior, structural, MEP, landscaping, and specialty designs for hotel projects. Ensure full integration, brand compliance, and timely delivery across disciplines.

The role requires 5–10 years in design coordination or hospitality projects, with experience in luxury or mixed-use developments preferred. Collaboration with operators and management teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Construction Management, or related field.
• Master’s degree is an added advantage; professional licensure preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in design coordination or hospitality development projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design development activities across architects, interior designers, structural engineers, MEP consultants, and specialty consultants.
• Review design submissions for completeness, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
• Ensure seamless integration of all design disciplines.
• Facilitate design coordination meetings and maintain action trackers.
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Identify design clashes and coordinate resolution among consultants.
• Evaluate constructability, maintainability, and operational efficiency of proposed designs.
• Coordinate value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs.
• Liaise with project management teams, consultants, contractors, hotel operators, and client representatives.
• Manage communication and approvals related to design submissions.
• Present design updates and progress reports to stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with local building codes, fire & life safety requirements, accessibility standards, and statutory regulations.
• Coordinate submission of drawings for government approvals and permits.
• Maintain design registers and drawing logs.
• Monitor design deliverables against project schedules.
• Ensure proper revision control and document management.
• Provide technical support during construction.
• Review RFIs, shop drawings, material submissions, and mock-ups.
• Coordinate resolution of site-related design issues.
• Participate in site inspections and progress reviews.
• Identify design risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the design process.
• Monitor consultant performance and design quality.
