Job summary

Brady & Morris Engineering Co. Ltd in India is seeking a Junior Mechanical Design & Estimation Engineer to assist in the design, engineering, and estimation of Material Handling Equipment such as EOT cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes, hoists and transfer trolleys.

You will prepare GA drawings, perform mechanical design calculations, compile BOMs, and support tender submissions while coordinating with other departments for project execution.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks

Responsibilities

• Prepare GA, fabrication and assembly drawings using AutoCAD/SolidWorks or equivalent.
• Assist in mechanical design calculations for cranes, hoists, girders, end carriages and structures.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Modify existing designs based on customer requirements and project specifications.
• Support senior engineers in design validation and optimization activities.
• Study customer enquiries, specifications, and tender documents.
• Prepare techno-commercial cost estimates for material handling equipment.
• Calculate material quantities and prepare BOMs.
• Assist in preparation of technical offers and tender submissions.
• Maintain estimation records and cost databases.

Job description

The Junior Mechanical Design & Estimation Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the design, engineering, and estimation of Material Handling Equipment such as EOT Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Jib Cranes, Hoists, Transfer Trolleys, and other customized lifting solutions. The role involves preparation of design drawings, bill of materials, technical calculations, cost estimation, and coordination with various departments for project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings using AutoCAD/SolidWorks or equivalent software.
• Assist in mechanical design calculations related to cranes, hoists, girders, end carriages, structures, and other material handling equipment.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Modify existing designs based on customer requirements and project specifications.
• Support senior engineers in design validation and optimization activities.

Estimation :

• Study customer enquiries, specifications, and tender documents.
• Prepare techno-commercial cost estimates for material handling equipment.
