Job Summary

The Design Coordinator (Electrical) shall be responsible for coordinating electrical design and engineering activities related to EOT Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Jib Cranes, Hoists and other material handling equipment. The role involves preparation, review and coordination of electrical drawings, control systems, panel layouts, BOMs and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with customer specifications and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design Coordination

• Coordinate electrical design activities for crane and material handling equipment projects.
• Review customer specifications, technical requirements and project documents.
• Ensure timely preparation and release of electrical drawings and engineering documents.
• Coordinate with mechanical design, production and project teams for smooth execution.

Engineering & Design Support

• Prepare and review electrical schematics, power circuits and control circuits.
• Develop panel layouts, cable schedules, wiring diagrams and terminal plans.
• Select electrical components such as motors, brakes, VFDs, contactors, MCCBs, PLCs, limit switches and safety devices.
• Support development of automation and crane control systems.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IS, IEC and customer standards.

Cross Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with Purchase for technical specifications and vendor approvals.
• Support Production and Quality teams during panel manufacturing and assembly.
• Resolve electrical design-related issues during manufacturing, testing and commissioning.

Documentation & Drawing Control

• Maintain revision control of electrical drawings and BOMs.
• Ensure proper documentation of electrical calculations, approvals and design changes.
• Maintain standard electrical design libraries and engineering records.
