We are looking for an experienced Principal Officer to lead regulatory compliance, governance, and local operations for a broking entity operating from GIFT City, Gujarat. The role will serve as the key point of contact for regulatory and exchange-related matters and will be responsible for ensuring adherence to the IFSCA regulatory framework, exchange requirements, AML obligations, and applicable statutory regulations.

The ideal candidate will combine strong regulatory knowledge with practical experience in broking, trading, compliance monitoring, and branch management, along with the ability to represent the organisation before regulators and other external stakeholders.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the designated Principal Officer and primary point of contact for regulatory and compliance matters
  • Ensure adherence to IFSCA statutory, regulatory, and exchange obligations applicable to the broking entity
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the IFSCA regulatory framework and international trading norms
  • Monitor compliance with IFSCA regulations, exchange bye‑laws, rules, circulars, and applicable regulatory directions
  • Develop, maintain, and implement internal compliance manuals, policies, and monitoring frameworks aligned with IFSCA requirements
  • Oversee the organisation's Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) framework and ensure compliance with PMLA, 2002and applicable rules
  • Monitor transactions and business activities to identify potential compliance risks and ensure appropriate reporting of suspicious transactions
  • Ensure that the intermediary continuously maintains its fit and proper status
  • Manage regulatory reporting, compliance reviews, audits, inspections, and regulatory correspondence
  • Coordinate with regulators, exchanges, clearing corporations, and other relevant external stakeholders
  • Ensure appropriate governance structures, controls, and processes are implemented across the GIFT City operations
  • Oversee compliance aspects of order execution, trading technology, clearing, settlement, and related broking processes
  • Ensure client interests are adequately protected through appropriate operational and compliance controls
  • Monitor trading activities on NSE IX and ensure appropriate reporting of NLT trades
  • Bring strong understanding of India equity derivatives and applicable trading and compliance requirements
  • Identify regulatory, operational, and business risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures
  • Lead the GIFT City office from a local management perspective and ensure effective coordination across functions
  • Support achievement of branch revenue and business targets while maintaining strong regulatory and ethical standards
  • Promote a strong compliance culture and ensure employees understand and follow applicable policies and regulations
  • Prepare and present compliance, regulatory, operational, and management reports to senior leadership
  • Represent the organisation professionally in regulatory and industry interactions
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in broking, capital markets, regulatory compliance, financial services, or a related domain
  • Strong and practical knowledge of the IFSCA regulatory framework and IFSC capital market requirements
  • Proven experience working with broking entities, exchanges, trading operations, or capital market intermediaries
  • Hands‑on experience with NSE IX trading and NLT trade reporting
  • Strong understanding of India equity derivatives and trading processes
  • In‑depth knowledge of AML, PMLA, KYC, compliance monitoring, suspicious transaction reporting, and regulatory governance
  • Experience managing regulatory communications, inspections, audits, reporting, and compliance reviews
  • Strong understanding of exchange rules, circulars, bye‑laws, and statutory obligations
  • Ability to oversee compliance across order execution, technology, clearing, settlement, and client‑protection processes
  • Experience establishing and maintaining compliance policies, manuals, controls, and monitoring frameworks
  • Strong understanding of governance requirements and fit‑and‑proper obligations for financial intermediaries
  • Ability to balance regulatory responsibilities with business development and revenue objectives
  • Strong ethical standards and the ability to establish and enforce a robust compliance culture
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
  • Ability to independently lead local operations and represent the organisation in regulatory matters
  • Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving capabilities, with the ability to manage sensitive regulatory and operational issues
  • A relevant professional qualification in Finance, Law, Compliance, Capital Markets, or a related discipline is preferred
