Job summary

Qode Advisors LLP in Gujarat seeks a Principal Officer to lead the establishment and governance of an IFSC Fund Management Entity. You will oversee regulatory compliance, investor servicing, and the end-to-end setup ensuring alignment with IFSCA rules and global best practices.

You will coordinate with IFSCA, custodians, fund administrators, auditors and legal advisors, while building and guiding investment, compliance, operations and support teams for a scalable platform.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in fund management or related financial services.
• Experience establishing or scaling regulated investment platforms (AMCs, PMS, AIFs, IFSC/GIFT City).
• Fit & Proper criteria as per IFSCA; based in or willing to relocate to Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end setup of the IFSC Fund Management Entity, including licensing and regulatory approvals.
• Drive investment strategy, portfolio construction, and fund performance oversight.
• Build governance, risk management, and reporting frameworks; liaise with IFSCA and service providers.

Job description

Qode Advisors LLP is a SEBI-registered Portfolio Management Services (PMS) firm serving HNIs and family offices, expanding into IFSC to build a compliant and scalable global fund management platform.

Role Summary

The Principal Officer will be responsible for the overall management of the Fund Management Entity, including regulatory compliance, governance, and investor servicing. The individual will act as the Key Executive responsible for leading the end-to-end setup and operationalization of the IFSC Fund Management Entity while ensuring compliance with all IFSCA regulations and global fund management best practices.

What You'll Do

• Lead the end-to-end setup of the IFSC Fund Management Entity, including licensing, regulatory approvals, and operational readiness.
• Drive investment strategy, portfolio construction, investment decisions, and overall fund performance.
• Build and establish fund operations, governance, risk management frameworks, and reporting processes.
• Act as the primary liaison with IFSCA, custodians, fund administrators, auditors, legal advisors, and other key stakeholders.
• Build, mentor, and lead the investment, compliance, operations, and support teams to establish a high-performing fund management platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead investment strategy and portfolio management across investment products.
• Oversee investment research, asset allocation, and security selection.
• Monitor portfolio performance and risk-adjusted returns.
• Review investment policies and ensure adherence to investment mandates.

Regulatory & Governance

• Ensure compliance with the IFSCA (Fund Management) Regulations and applicable circulars.
• Liaise with IFSCA, auditors, custodians, fund administrators, and other service providers.
• Present reports to the Board and Investment Committee.
• Maintain robust governance, compliance, and internal control frameworks.

Operations

• Lead fund launch activities from licensing through operational readiness.
• Coordinate with legal, compliance, operations, finance, and technology teams.
• Drive operational excellence, automation, and scalable processes.

Mandatory Eligibility

Education

One of the following:

• Professional Qualification (CA/CS/CMA)
• Postgraduate Diploma (minimum one year)

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in fund management, portfolio management, asset management, investment advisory, capital markets, or related financial services.
• Experience managing institutional or HNI portfolios is preferred.
• Prior experience in establishing or scaling regulated investment platforms, AMCs, PMS, AIFs, or IFSC/GIFT City entities will be an added advantage.

Mandatory Regulatory Requirements

• Must satisfy the Fit & Proper criteria prescribed by IFSCA.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to GIFT IFSC, Gandhinagar.
• Must complete the mandatory NISM-IFSCA-01 AML/CFT Certification within the prescribed timeline after appointment.

Preferred Certifications

• FRM (GARP)
• CAIA (preferred for alternative investments)
