Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. seeks an experienced EHS Safety Engineer to support the implementation of safety systems, risk assessments, and compliance during Greenfield projects and ongoing operations. The role includes inspections, audits, and coordination of safety training.

Key emphasis is on HIRA/HAZOP studies, permit-to-work, and regulatory adherence, with a focus on creating a safe working environment across all project phases.

Qualifications

• BE in Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental Engineering required.
• Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) required.
• Minimum 5 years of safety/EHS experience.
• Greenfield project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of safety systems during Greenfield project execution and post-SOP operations.
• Conduct workplace safety inspections and hazard identification across project areas.
• Assist in risk assessments, HIRA, and HAZOP studies and safety audits.
• Monitor compliance with PPE, permit-to-work and site safety procedures.
• Coordinate safety training and emergency preparedness activities.

Job description

Support implementation of safety systems, risk assessments, statutory compliance and safety awareness activities during Greenfield project execution and post-SOP operations to create and sustain a safe working environment

Roles and responsibilities:

Greenfield Project Phase

• Support implementation of project safety requirements during civil construction, utility installation, equipment erection and commissioning activities.
• Conduct workplace safety inspections, contractor safety monitoring and hazard identification activities across project areas.
• Assist in risk assessments, HIRA, HAZOP studies and safety audits for project activities.
• Monitor compliance with site safety procedures, PPE requirements, permit-to-work systems and statutory regulations.

Operations Phase

• Perform routine workplace safety inspections and safety audits across plant operations.
• Maintain accident prevention plans, incident records, near miss reports and safety MIS.
• Support employee, contractor and vendor training programs relating to safety and EHS requirements.
• Coordinate statutory compliance activities, safety initiatives, emergency preparedness drills and corrective action implementation.

Experience

• 5 Years
• Greenfield Project experience will be an added advantage.
