Job summary

Metso is seeking a Deputy Manager – Quality to join the MEI Quality team in Gurugram, India. You will oversee supplier quality, manufacturing compliance, and project quality across multiple stakeholders, reporting to the DGM, Quality, Sourcing and Procurement.

This onsite role requires collaboration with suppliers, customers, and inspection agencies to ensure project success. You will guide QA plans, audits, welding procedure reviews, and NDT activities while traveling as needed to support

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Extensive experience in quality control and quality assurance within manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial project environments.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes, supplier quality management, and audit practices.
• Ability to interpret and apply engineering codes, standards, specifications, and inspection requirements, including IS, BS, ASME, and similar standards.
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, critical operations, risk prevention measures, and quality improvement practices.
• Experience reviewing welding procedures, welder qualifications, inspection documentation, and quality records.
• Capability to develop and review quality assurance plans, inspection and test plans, and non-destructive testing procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver results within deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and stakeholder groups.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required, including at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Monitor supplier progress, manufacturing quality, and inspection activities against plans and standards.
• Review welding procedures, welder qualifications, QA plans, and NDT procedures per requirements.
• Drive supplier and product development initiatives, including localization aligned with market needs.
• Coordinate quality requirements with customers, suppliers, and third-party inspection agencies.
• Maintain quality records and report performance metrics to stakeholders.
• Prepare project quality reports and collaborate with stakeholders to support project execution.

Introduction

We are looking for a Deputy Manager – Quality to join our Quality team in the Market Area Middle East and India (MEI) organization. In this role, you will help ensure supplier quality, manufacturing compliance, and project quality requirements are achieved through effective quality assurance, supplier development, inspection management, and stakeholder collaboration.You will report to DGM, Quality, Sourcing and Procurement, and the role location is Gurugram, India, onsite working model.

Team you will belong to

You will join our Quality team, which is responsible for supporting supplier quality management, quality assurance processes, inspection activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. The team plays a key role in ensuring products and services meet project, customer, and regulatory requirements while supporting reliable supplier performance.The team works closely with sourcing and procurement, project stakeholders, suppliers, clients, third-party inspection agencies, and manufacturing partners. Team members are based in Gurugram, India, and collaborate to support quality objectives across the Market Area MEI organization.

What you'll do

• Manage quality control, quality assurance, supplier assessments, and supplier audits in line with project requirements, company processes, and quality standards.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, manufacturing facilities, subcontractor support, and process controls to ensure suitability for project-specific requirements.
• Monitor supplier progress, manufacturing quality, and inspection activities against schedules, drawings, specifications, quality assurance plans, and applicable standards.
• Review and support welding procedures, welder qualification documentation, quality assurance plans, inspection and test plans, and non-destructive testing procedures in accordance with relevant requirements.
• Drive supplier and product development initiatives, including localization activities aligned with market requirements.
• Coordinate quality requirements with customers, suppliers, and third-party inspection agencies, resolving quality-related issues and ensuring project compliance.
• Maintain quality records in accordance with quality management system requirements and report supplier performance and project quality metrics to stakeholders.
• Prepare project quality reports and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project execution.
