Job summary

Kirloskar Brothers Limited seeks a Stores/Inventory Manager to oversee end-to-end storage, handling, and control of foundry raw materials. You will ensure material quality, accuracy, and safety compliance across ERP/SAP environments.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years in stores management with 2+ years in foundry stores.

Role

To manage end-to-end storage, handling, and inventory control of foundry raw materials, ensuring timely availability for uninterrupted melting operations. Responsible for material quality preservation, inventory accuracy, and coordination with production and planning teams. Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental requirements in raw material operations.

Job Responsibilities

1. 1. Managing receipt, storage, segregation, and issue of pig iron, MS scrap, foundry returns, hazardous material, sand, ferro-alloys, inoculants, binders, and fluxes.
2. 2. Identification and segregation knowledge of CI foundry raw materials and components.
3. 3. Maintain optimum inventory levels as per melt plan and production schedule.
4. 4. Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce inventory carrying costs and losses.
5. 5. Prevention of material losses due to rusting, moisture, contamination, or mishandling.
6. 6. Ensure optimum inventory levels in line with melt plans and production schedules.
7. 7. Perform stock checking and perpetual inventory control as per financial norms.
8. 8. Capability to communicate inventory status, shortages, excess stock, and quality issues to management in a timely
9. 9. Implement 5S, layout optimization, and safe material flow practices.
10. 10. Ability to communicate clearly with Production, Planning, Purchase, Quality to maintain uninterrupted material flow.
11. 11. Strong understanding of QMS, EMS & OHSAS requirements.
12. 12. Enforce safety practices for cranes, forklifts, scrap handling, and dust control.
13. 13. Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/SAP systems.
14. 14. Prepare MIS reports on stock, consumption, aging, and variances.
15. 15. Execute non-moving material scrapping process as per defined procedures and approvals.
16. 16. Promote a collaborative work environment that supports teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
17. 17. Proven ability to maintain inventory accuracy through perpetual inventory, cycle counts, root cause analysis of variances, and corrective actions in SAP/ERP.

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate or Post Graduate having experience of around 6 years to 10 years in Stores Management with more than 2 years in Foundry Stores knowledge of SAP MM and SAP Hana
