Job summary

SV Management Consultants seeks an experienced Plant Quality Head to lead the quality function at an automotive manufacturing plant in Pune. You will own quality strategy, customer quality, audits, compliance, COPQ and build the quality team.

You will drive APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA, foster Zero Defect initiatives, and collaborate with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to enable data-driven quality improvements, with IATF 16949 knowledge and exposure to German OEMs

Qualifications

• 5+ years in automotive quality leadership
• Experience with IATF 16949 and customer quality
• Strong knowledge of APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA

Responsibilities

• Lead plant quality strategy and performance.
• Manage customer quality, audits, escalations and CAPA.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer requirements.
• Lead APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA activities.
• Drive Zero Defect and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Plant Quality Head to lead the quality function at automotive manufacturing plant. The role will be responsible for quality strategy, customer quality, process and product quality, audits, compliance, cost of poor quality, and development of the quality team.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead overall plant quality strategy and quality performance.
• Manage customer quality, audits, escalations, complaints and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 and customer-specific requirements.
• Lead APQP, PPAP, PPA, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA activities.
• Drive Zero Defect, process improvement, Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Monitor and reduce rejection, scrap, rework and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
• Lead internal, certification and customer audits.
• Manage metrology, CMM and measurement systems.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to improve quality.
• Handle critical customer issues and quality escalations.
• Drive continuous improvement and data-based quality decision making.

Candidate Profile

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Production or Metallurgy.
• 15+ years of automotive industry experience with 8+ years in managerial roles.
• Strong experience in sheet metal, press parts and welded assemblies.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC and MSA.
• Experience with German OEMs will be an advantage.
