Job summary

Gokaldas Exports Limited in Bengaluru is seeking an Executive - Deputy General Manager (Merchandising) to drive strategic merchandising operations and ensure timely delivery of apparel export orders.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Textile/Apparel Technology with relevant degree.
• 14–18 years of experience in apparel export companies with people management.
• Experience with international buyer accounts and PD background.
• Sportswear merchandising experience preferred.
• Experience handling Knit and Woven categories preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial targets through strategic planning, cost negotiation, and margin optimization.


• Generate and convert business opportunities into confirmed orders.


• Manage key buyer accounts and lead pricing negotiations.


• Oversee production planning, capacity, and execution to ensure quality and timely delivery.


• Identify business and operational risks and implement contingency plans.


• Lead, mentor, and develop merchandising teams to drive ownership and performance.


• Drive product development with design and sourcing teams, aligned with market trends.


• Ensure adherence to business, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Graduate in Textile/Apparel Technology.


• 14-18 years of experience with apparel export companies, people-management experience of 20+ colleagues.


• Prior apparel export-house experience managing international buyer accounts with PD background.


• Sportswear merchandising experience is preferred.


• Experience handling both Knit & Woven categories is preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Good system knowledge and system savvy approach.


• Exposure to relevant systems/tools, particularly PLM.


• Sportswear / Performance Apparel experience is preferred across levels.


• Strong end-to-end (E2E) operational experience.


• Proven experience in performance apparel and sportswear.


• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale business operations effectively.


• Good Analytical Thinking and deadline oriented.
