Job summary

Naini Papers seeks an experienced production leader to head operations of a high-speed C1S coated paper machine. The role requires strong technical expertise in paper manufacturing, coating technology, and team leadership to drive production and quality excellence across the line.

Responsibilities include optimizing process performance, reducing downtime, and achieving safety, efficiency and cost targets while mentoring supervisors and coordinating cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 15–20+ years in paper manufacturing, coated paper experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of coating chemistry, calendar and converting processes.
• Proven ability to lead large teams and drive cost reductions.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end production operations of the C1S coated paper machine.
• Achieve targets for production, quality, efficiency and waste reduction.
• Optimize productivity through continuous process improvement and downtime reduction.
• Monitor KPIs: OEE, machine efficiency, coating consumption, steam/power usage.
• Ensure CTQ compliance and maintain product quality standards.
• Coordinate with Stock Preparation, Coating Kitchen, Maintenance, Quality, Planning, Dispatch.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented production professional to lead the operations of a high-speed C1S Coated Paper Machine. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in paper manufacturing, coating technology, production optimization, quality improvement, cost reduction, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end production operations of the C1S coated paper machine, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing.
• Achieve production, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction targets.
• Optimize machine productivity through continuous process improvement and reduced downtime.
• Monitor and improve key production KPIs including OEE, machine efficiency, break frequency, coating consumption, steam and power consumption, reel quality, and customer complaints.
• Ensure compliance with product quality standards and Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) parameters.
• Coordinate with Stock Preparation, Coating Kitchen, Maintenance, Quality, Planning, and Dispatch teams for smooth operations.
• Drive root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead production planning to achieve delivery commitments while minimizing inventory and process losses.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, housekeeping, environmental, and statutory requirements.
• Develop and mentor production teams, shift in-charges, and supervisors to build future leadership.
• Support new product development, grade changes, process optimization, and cost reduction projects.

Educational Qualification

• 15–20+ years of experience in paper manufacturing, with significant exposure to coated paper machines.
• Strong technical expertise in the following areas:
• Paper machine operations
• Coating colour chemistry, preparation and application
• Calendaring, reel quality and converting operations.
• Specialty and barrier-coated papers (preferred)
• Proven ability to improve productivity, reduce costs, stabilize processes, and lead large manufacturing teams.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
