Job summary

UltraTech Cement Limited in India offers a Global Manufacturing Leadership Program (GMLP) role across multiple locations. The position focuses on optimizing raw mix, quality control of materials and packing, BIS compliance, and cost efficiency through process improvements.

You will drive quality management systems, NABL compliance, and safety culture while building a strong talent pipeline within the function.

Responsibilities

• Optimisation of Raw Mix: Monitor raw mix consistency against available fuel for productivity and cost improvement, plan medium and long-term mix maximising in-house and local sources
• Quality of Coal, Raw Material, AFR and Packing Bags: Plan and monitor the quality control and assurance system for full conformance to grinding unit and marketing requirements
• Legal and Statutory Compliance: Monitor compliance of legal requirements covering quality and bag artwork, and plan proactive renewals with full BIS compliance implemented at the QC laboratories at zero tolerance
• Cost Optimisation: Plan effective resource utilisation to optimise cost, identify cheaper sources and types of fly ash, analyse use of alkali bypass through addition in cement, raw mix additives, the thermal power plant and sale
• System Management: Drive implementation of quality management systems and build a culture of system compliance, oversee NABL compliance, secure quality improvement through IMS objectives, EMS targets and WCM criteria score
• Safety, Health and Environment: Plan for zero accidents and build a safety culture within the department, monitor compliance with all applicable safety standards to create a hazard-free system
• People Management: Build a conducive work culture that lifts productivity, growth and motivation in the quality function, enable SMART goal setting and performance reviews with HR

Job description

• Optimisation of Raw Mix: Monitor raw mix consistency against available fuel for productivity and cost improvement, plan medium and long-term mix maximising in-house and local sources, work with the Mines and Material teams on low-cost limestone and additives, plan low-cost fuel usage, oversee deposit testing against mines reserve life, and monitor LSF standard deviation in the limestone stockpile and kiln feed
• Quality of Coal, Raw Material, AFR and Packing Bags: Plan and monitor the quality control and assurance system for full conformance to grinding unit and marketing requirements, oversee inspection and control of incoming, in-process and finished materials against the quality plan, monitor material ratios against established parameters, and ensure finished goods meet government norms and UTCL standards
• Legal and Statutory Compliance: Monitor compliance of legal requirements covering quality and bag artwork, and plan proactive renewals with full BIS compliance implemented at the QC laboratories at zero tolerance
• Cost Optimisation: Plan effective resource utilisation to optimise cost, identify cheaper sources and types of fly ash, analyse use of alkali bypass through addition in cement, raw mix additives, the thermal power plant and sale, and optimise power consumption through controlled monitoring of blaine and residue

• Safety, Health and Environment: Plan for zero accidents and build a safety culture within the department, monitor compliance with all applicable safety standards to create a hazard-free system, build awareness of industrial waste usage in raw mix and its impact, ensure abnormalities from daily walkthroughs are reported, and close out FPSA, SPSA, TPSA and external audit findings along with RCN and BCN recommendations before target date
• People Management: Build a conducive work culture that lifts productivity, growth and motivation in the quality function, enable SMART goal setting and performance reviews with HR, identify common training needs for current and future competency requirements, and develop the talent pipeline within the function
