Job summary

Rathinam College invites applications to provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the Department of Physical Education and Sports, shaping academic, sports, fitness, and wellness programmes for students.

You will plan and coordinate inter-collegiate and national sports events, mentor athletes, supervise staff, manage facilities and budget, and foster research and collaborations to advance Physical Education and Sports Sciences.

• Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the Department of Physical Education and Sports.
• Develop and implement academic, sports, fitness, and wellness programmes for students.
• Plan and coordinate inter-collegiate, university, state, national, and international sports activities.
• Identify, mentor, and develop talented athletes and improve student participation and sports performance.
• Supervise Physical Education faculty, coaches, trainers, and support staff and monitor their performance.
• Manage and develop sports infrastructure, playgrounds, gymnasium, fitness centres, and sports equipment.
• Prepare and manage the annual sports budget and ensure effective utilisation of resources.
• Promote research, publications, seminars, conferences, and collaborations in Physical Education and Sports Sciences.
• Establish partnerships with universities, sports federations, academies, professional coaches, and other sports organisations.
• Maintain sports records and reports and ensure compliance with university, regulatory, accreditation, and institutional requirements.
